Chapter One-Part 5: Togetherness is Key

I woke up to a distance voice saying "I want it now! I want cake now! I-I want it now.." I got up and got dressed I put on my uniform witch is short, light-brown jacket with the badge of the Survey Corps on both shoulders, on the front left pocket, and on the center of the back, a white shirt, a dark brown sash around the waist covering the hips, white pants and dark brown knee-high leather boots.

I also have wearing a green hooded cape with the symbol of the Survey Corps after entering the faction. When I walked to the main room, where people set up or fix their 3DM gear I seen Artem ask Meryl what it was. "How many times do I have to tell you!?! It's a set of gear developed by humans that allows great mobility when facing the Titans in combat. The gear allows the user to fight in a 3D space as opposed to a 2D one. The gear itself takes the form of a body harness that encompasses much of the body below the neck. Although the Gear can grant a skilled user tremendous mobility, it is a demanding art that requires strength, and skill, both of which must be honed through constant practice. Some tools involved in the apparatus include: Handgrips, Piston-shot grapple-hooks, Gas powered mechanism, Iron Wire Propeller with Plug in Blades." She explained more but I left because I already knew this.

Bethany's POV:

We are in the huge eating room, I just got finished with breakfast. I turned around from the sink to see Sadie run towards me "BETHANY YOUR OK!!!" She hugged me so hard "of course I'm ok!...although I don't remember what happened, until Derek told me witch explains this bandage wrapped around my forearm." "What's a Titan slayer without battle scars" she laughed. CommanderJanel walked in the room with Captain Val trailing behind her "Ok guys great news! We have some new equipment in!" Everyone started getting excited "Ok stop you murmuring" Val commanded "Thank you Captain, meet us at the main room to discuss these new equipment." We all followed them, once we entered the main room we lined up behind long tables that had some extra 3DM gear on top of them.

As Janel got ready to speak she seen Artem looked down and blushed it took her a minuet to begin speaking "We've got Cannons, Now-"She was cut off by Val "can I explain the cannons? You know I like explaining..pleaaasseee?" he used his 'sad dog eyes' Janel sighed "sure." He began

"Cannons were the primary weapon used to engage the Titans despite the ability of cannon to blow a Titan's head off in one shot, half of all Titans will merely regenerate their heads; the only certain way to kill a Titan is to destroy the nape of its neck. In addition, the time it takes to reload and aim a cannon makes it inapplicable for offensive strategies against Titans. However, cannons are still used in static defense positions, most notably on top the Walls and near gates in the event of a breach. The cannons contain two different rounds: pomegrenades and grapeshots. Pomegrenades are high explosive rounds used to attempt to kill a Titan by destroying the nape of the neck in the blast. Grapeshots are the more traditional cannon round and are mostly used to slow down Titan advances with their wide dispersion shots which are designed to take off as many limbs as possible in a wide area. The ammunition is breech-loaded and takes about twenty seconds to reload." I hope everyone got all that. Janel started to speak "we will set up the cannons in the Goodman woods and on top of the wall" Janel started to talk about the last new equipment, the firearms "The type of firearm used is based on the flintlock mechanism, where a piece of flint ignites the powder and fires the gun, which must be reloaded after every shot. One of the most notable features of the firearm is the lack of smoke it produces which creates a large flash, compared to black-gunpowder which produces a massive cloud of smoke when fired.

Firearms are unable to kill Titans because they lack the power to penetrate through the nape of the neck, a Titan's weakness. Also, given a Titan's fast regeneration rate and the long amount of time it takes to reload a flintlock weapon 15-30 seconds as they require pouring powder down the barrel and ramming the bullet down with a rod, they are practically useless in dealing enough lasting damage to severely harm a Titan. However, they can shoot out a Titan's eyes and blind it until it regenerates them, Everyone will get one when needed Sasha will supply them" Commander and Captain left the room and everyone got excited and started talking...I'm a little nervous about these new weapons but I trust these guys I know that we can kill all the Titans, Together.
