Virgil woke up that morning without that usual pressure and... Something actually felt wrong about it all. He frowned as he pulled the blankets off. The room felt too cold. The bed felt too big. He felt alone and he didn't like it. Guess having a wolf with you 24/7 for the past month made him get used to the company.
He pushed himself up and grabbed the crutches with a sigh as he started to leave the room. He didn't give himself a chance to even think about anything. He just left and started for the living room. Already he could hear Logan and Remus talking and he smiled. Those two have stayed here the ENTIRE time Virgil has been hurt. They've been caring for him and Roman both.
Virgil heard the front door close and he frowned knowing what it meant. Logan and Remus had gone to town. No doubt to go shopping or something. They'll be back but... Right now there was only one person Virgil wanted to see.
"Roman?" Virgil's voice cracked as he made his way into the living room. He fumbled a little tensing up in fear only to freeze as a pair of arms wrapped around him. His eyes met with the familiar red sash and he melted into the other as he cried. "Roman?"
"Virgil, what's wrong?" Virgil laughed as he pushed away and wiped his eyes. He giggled softly as Roman led him to the couch, placing the crouches under the table, before sitting beside him. "Virgil?"
"I'm sorry." Virgil smiled as Roman took his hands in his. "I just... I missed you."
"Virgil, I never left you." Roman pulled the man in and Virgil could hear how fast Roman's heart was beating. "I never left. I've been right here with you the whole time."
"I know." Virgil whispered as he just let Roman hold him. He used to hate contact. He still does but... Having Roman hold him in his arms was giving him that familiar pressure and he craved it. He felt safe in it. He felt safe with him. "Even still... I missed you, Roman." Virgil pushed himself away despite how much he wanted to stay there with him. "We need to talk."
"No, we don't." Virgil shot the man a confused look as Roman smiled. "We don't need to talk."
"Roman, you kissed me. You..." Roman held his hand up causing Virgil to tense as the other simply took his hand.
"I love you, Virgil. I have... for a while now. I kissed you to show you I meant it... that I truly care for you... but we don't need to talk about it." Roman's eyes shined as he held Virgil's hand closer. "We don't need to talk about it... because you don't have to feel the same for me. You don't have to do anything. I love you... that's not going to change. That doesn't mean you have to try to explain how you feel. Or try to force yourself to feel for me. Or anything Virgil. We don't have to talk about it... because it changes nothing."
"Roman, you told me that you..."
"I do love you. Virgil, I could sit here and tell you all the things I've gone through. I could tell you my life story and how... I became as a person. I could tell you how it all led to that day with your father and how fast I fell under your spell but... It doesn't change a thing." Virgil frowned as Roman's eyes darkened. "I didn't tell you that I love you for you to hurt yourself over it. I'm fine with how things were in the past. I was happy." Virgil's eyes widened a bit as Roman squeezed his hands. "You were happy too... right?"
"I don't really know... what happy feels like anymore." Roman's face fell bad as Virgil looked away. "But Roman... I do know I felt safe here. Safe and... safe and cared for. I'm your prisoner Ro. Yet you still took care of me-..." Virgil froze as Roman's hand squeezed tightly. Like... Really tight. His eyes darted up to see Roman biting his lip harshly as he avoided his gaze and Virgil frowned. "Roman?"
"Please, stop calling yourself that." Virgil's eyes went wide as Roman frowned. "I don't like hearing it. I... I never really did. Virgil, you are not a prisoner. You never did anything wrong. Virgil..."
"Even still... I AM your servant."
"Virgil, please stop." Virgil was frozen under the subtle whine in Roman's voice as the other shook. "You are my friend. A friend, I care deeply about. You are not a prisoner. You are not a servant. You are my friend. So please... please stop calling yourself that. It hurts." Roman's hand went to his chest as he curled up a bit. "It hurts to hear you speak so little of yourself... when you mean so much to me."
"I'm sorry." Roman shook his head as he turned away with a sigh. "I don't mean to upset you. I just... Roman, I'm not used to this." Virgil smiled softly as laid down, making Roman tense up in shock over Virgil's laying his head in his lap. Seconds past and Virgil melted into Roman as the older carded his fingers through Virgil's hair. "You're so kind and caring. You never tried to hurt me once. I just..." Roman frowned as those worlds filled his head. His hand moved away from Virgil's hair as the other teared up. "You never hit me. You never hurt me. Not... Not You... Not when you were aware and in control. And even when you weren't you never truly hurt me... not... not like him."
"Virgil?" Roman's voice lulled through his lips with a dark growl making the younger shiver at the anger he could clearly hear. "Did you just say someone hurt you? On purpose?" Virgil tensed as he nodded trying really hard to avoid his gaze. Roman growled as he forced Virgil to look up at him making Virgil's eyes go wide seeing Roman partially shifted in anger. His eyes were a glowing and shifted red. His hair was slightly longer and spiked back. It was clear this man was a beast... and Virgil could help but melt at the protective shine in Roman's eyes. "Who?" Virgil shook his head as he rolled over as curled up into Roman. Roman was furious though and he couldn't calm himself down. "Virgil, who the fuck hurt you."
"Why does it matter, Roman?" Roman flared about to yell out only to freeze up as Virgil nuzzled into him. "I'm never going back there again. I'm safe here. I like it here." Roman's eyes went wide as all the anger just vanished, turning him back to normal again. Virgil just giggled as he felt Roman wrap his arms around him. "A long as you want me here... I'm not leaving."
"Please..." Roman hummed as he held Virgil close to his chest. "...don't ever leave me."
