Dinner ended up lasting late into the night, and the Wayne party didn't return home until 4 in the morning.
Wally and Desiree decided to crash in the living room, not wanting to part after their 'romantic' night together.
Divya drank so much, she was actually being nice to Richard, and decided to take shelter in his bedroom. You could tell he was more than a little excited about that turn out.
Saber escorted Scarlett to her bedroom. She'd been out of it the whole night, and she seemed highly upset now that they were back at the mansion. No one knew she was disappointed to see that Conner hadn't been waiting for them there.
Did he even make it back okay? Or if he didn't come home, where the hell could he be? Not wanting to voice her concern, she resigned herself to her bedroom, worried out of her mind.
Kaldur retreated to his room as well, having been unable to say a proper goodnight to Saber. The sudden impasse between them had him restive. He wasn't sure why he cared so much, but nonetheless, he wanted to fix this situation.
"Well," Bruce muttered to Zane as they stood in the foyer. Alfred, Ezio and Zain had migrated to the kitchen to do Lord knew what, leaving the pair to themselves for the moment.
"Well," she mocked, looking up at him with that racy smile of hers. Her silver eyes were shimmering marvelously, and her skin was still flushed from all the alcohol she'd consumed. She looked so ravishing standing there, and he cursed himself again and again for swearing off to a mere friendship - one that he had no intention of swaying from, sexually or otherwise.
"I guess this is goodnight," he forced out with a heavy exhale. He was sure his eyes were pleading for her to object.
"It certainly is," she answered, a mischievous glint dancing in her own. He prayed she wasn't into torture, because even a hardened vigilante like him couldn't withstand a charming little minx like her. "Thank you again, Mr. Wayne. This was a night that I won't forget for a very long time."
"I told you to call me Bruce, Zane," he growled in a low, seductive tone. The smug expression on her face faltered the slightest bit, and for a moment, she looked like cornered prey, ready to fly away at the slightest twitch from him. It brought a rugged smile to his face. "Have a goodnight~"
"G-goodnight, Bruce," she stammered, turning on her heel and practically running up the stairs. She was the most graceful drunk he'd ever seen.
"Would you like some coffee to settle you, sir?"
Bruce nearly jumped out of his skin as he turned around and found the three males at the door, watching him intently.
"H-how long have you been standing there?" he barked defensively. Zain just chuckled giddily before departing for the stairs. Bruce watched him ascend them, a hot blush creeping up his neck.
"Well . . . goodnight, Mr. Alfred," Ezio yawned. "Goodnight, Master Bruce." He sleepily crept away to his own quarters, leaving Bruce standing there with the older gentleman.
"Alfred . . . how much did you see?" Bruce reiterated.
"Only everything, Master," he replied immediately. "And not just within these walls."
"Good grief," Bruce said, rubbing his eyes in exhaustion.
"Don't worry too much about it," Alfred reassured. "You can hardly avoid the gossip that will be in the tabloids later today, but I'm sure Miss Zamora knew what she was getting herself into."
"Alfred, you say that like I'm some sort of sex-crazed monster."
At the long silence that followed that statement, Bruce hung his head in shame.
