"What's that? You can't make it?" Zane squeaked on the phone. "Oh, that's too bad. I really wanted you to be there . . ."
The sweep of her broom continued as she bustled around her shop. She'd been cleaning and decorating all night in preparation for her big showcase. She was unveiling some special, themed pieces, so she was making the event big.
She was even collaborating with Scarlett and Zain: one designing her a custom made dress, and the other catering the affair. Everyone who was anyone would be there, including the people most important to her.
Everyone but Saber.
"I understand, honey. It's okay, really. Just get better as soon as possible."
She ended the call and sighed. Saber never missed her special occasions, so it was probably something serious.
Setting the broom aside, she did a once-over of the place and nodded proudly. She'd put her heart and soul into all of this, and it was finally perfect. She couldn't wait for tomorrow to come.

Everyone converged at Death By Decadence, as per Zane's request, to receive their tickets. She slowly sipped a cup of hazelnut coffee, amused by everyone's antsy expressions.
"When is showtime?" Richard asked.
"7 p.m. sharp," she replied. "Each ticket covers admission and a plus one."
"Are you sure we should get them for free?" asked Wally.
"And what's wrong with free?" Divya asked, cocking a brow.
"I'm hoping you'll make up the financial support by buying my art," Zane winked.
"And the attire for the night?" Conner asked.
"Gothic. Be creative as possible," she purred.
"I'll have to wear my Halloween costume," Desiree joked.
"No worries. Every day is Halloween."
The door chime tinkled, and Scarlett came waltzing in, dropping some keys into Zane's hand.
"The dress has been delivered," she announced, taking a seat with a proud smile. "You're going to die when you see it."
"I should have commissioned my outfit from you," Richard hummed.
"She doesn't make men's fashion," Conner informed. Scarlett slowly turned to glare at him.
"You're awfully quiet, Kaldur," Zane said as she watched him stare dejectedly at his ticket.
"Oh no!" he said with a startled smile. "I'm excited for your show. I'm just not looking forward to coming alone."
"Oh yeah. Saber said she isn't feeling well," she supplied.
"Did she really?" he asked, worry all over his face.
"Yeah, but I'm sure she'll be okay in no time," she said slowly. "Didn't you know?"
"No," he admitted, looking gravely at his ticket. "She isn't speaking to me, ever since the beach."
"What a surprise," Scarlett snorted. "I mean, I can't imagine why she isn't feeling well."
Kaldur looked like an injured puppy being kicked as her eyes widened accusingly at him.
"Did I miss something?" Zane asked awkwardly.
"I think we all did," Conner drawled.
"How the hell am I supposed to cater this gig if I can't get in the damn building?" Zain shouted as he approached the table.
