Chapter 7 - Just shut up and say thank you

Lucys Pov:

"Hey..what's wrong?" she asked worried.

"I don't." I said and she frowned.

"I don't have a family. My parents died two years ago in a car crash. And my others relatives live somewhere in Germany so I have no one." I told her.

"You have me." she said which made me smile.

"I'm not really good with words..but I'm a great hugger." she said and pulled me into a hug.

We stayed like that for a while until she pulled away. Cory cupped my cheeks and wiped my tears away which made me smile a bit.

"You should smile more often, it looks beautiful on you." she said which made me blush a little.

"I don't smile. It makes me look weak." I replied and she rolled her eyes.

"You aren't weak when you smile. You're just cute. " Cory said and immediately blushed after she said that.

I don't think she meant to say that but it made me smile.

"You think I'm cute?" I asked her with a small grin and she put her hands on her face and groaned.

I have a crush on her since sophomore year but I'm not good enough for her so I never did something to make her like me.

And she's really cute when she embarrassed which makes it so hard to not to kiss her.

I then grabbed her hands and pulled them away from her face. "You're cute too." I told her which made her blush.

She then looked down and bite her lip. "C..Can I ask you something?" she shyly asked while looking back up and I nodded.

"Where do you live now?" she asked and I took a deep breath.

"In a shack." I answered and then looked down.

"No." she said which made me look back up to her.

"Not anymore. Youre going to live here from now on." Cory said and I shook my head.

"No no. I don't want to bother you and your moms." I replied and she took my hands.

"You're not bothering us Lucy. And I don't want that you stay alone in a shack. "she said with sad face.

"I live in this shack for two years. A few more years won't bother me." I replied and Cory shook her head.

"But now I'm here and I just care too much about you to let you go through this alone." she told me and I smiled.

She really does care about me..

"Okay..I'll stay with you." I said which made her smile.

"Thank you." Cory whispered and I pulled her into a hug.

My arms are around her neck and her arms are wrapped around my lower back.

"You're really amazing, you know.." I told her while hugging her tighter.

"I know."she mumbled, which made me chuckle.

Cory then slowly picked me up and I wrapped my legs around her waist. Her hands are gently holding my butt and I buried my face in her neck.

She walked to her bed and then sat down, so that I'm sitting on her lap.

"Cory? Are you up here?" We suddenly hear someone and I lifted my head and looked over my shoulder to Skylar.

"Oh..I um..leave you two alone." she said wirh a slight smirk and was about to go but Cory stopped her.

"Mom? Can I ask you something?" she asked and Skylar walked over to us.

Cory then looked at me, if she was asking for permission and I nodded.

"Can Lucy live with us?" she asked ber and her eyes widened.

"I- I know that's surprising for you but.."

"My parents aren't alive anymore and I live in a shack since then. Cory is just trying to be nice and you don't have to say yes." I interrupted Cory and gave her a nervous smile.

"Oh my- of course you can stay here." Skylar said.

"You don't have t-"

"Just shut up and say thank you." Cory cut me off and I looked at her with an raised eyebrow.

I leaned closer to her face and she gulped. "Feisty today, huh?" I asked her with a smirk and she blushed.

I smirked at her one more time before pulling away. "And um..thank you so much for letting me stay here." I said to Corys mom and she smiled.

"Are you going back down again?" Skylar asked while walking to the door.

"Um..we'll be down in a second." Cory responded and her mom nodded before walking out of her room.

I then placed my chin back on Corys shoulder while wrapping my arms around her. I started drawing circles on her back and she dragged her fingers up and down my spine.

"Do you wanna go back downstairs?" she asked and I sighed.

"In five minutes." I mumbled and she giggled.

"But um..can we like sit different? My legs are falling asleep." she said which made me laugh.

I got of her and sat down next to her. Cory then laid down on her back and mentioned me to lay next to her. So I laid down next to her and she wrapped her arm around me.

I then turned to my side and pressed my cheek against her chest. "If you're going to fall asleep.." she warned me and I laughed.

"I won't." I told her and snuggled more into her.
