Allisons POV
It was more than annoying when I walked to my next class and found Landon was in there too. English was boring and too easy as always. It was the only class that I wasn’t allowed to advance early in, which made it even weirder that Landon was in this class. Seniors should not be in a junior class. Unless he was a junior, but that wasn’t possible. Maybe this class was a remedial course for him. We were reading Much Ado about Nothing by William Shakespeare which I had already read. Twice.
My attention lingered on Landon for the rest of the hour. My fourth period class passed quickly as Cross Country always did. My mood had risen significantly when I found Landon was not a runner. Having lunch right after cross country was both a blessing and a curse. After a quick stop at my locker to grab my lunch I proceeded to the cafeteria. A gloomy light shone through the large windows and kids were laughing, running, and—obviously-- eating. I sat down at my table alone.
It was rare if I ever sat by anyone because Lauren had a different lunch period then I did, and I didn’t have many other friends. Glancing over I noticed the new boy get invited to sit with the football jocks. Looks like I was right about him. I had already turned by attention back to my own lunch so I didn’t notice when he started towards me. “Hello, I’m Landon” he said politely. I detected a slight southern accent when he spoke.
“Allison.” I replied not looking up. He attempted more conversation but I ignored his every word. Eventually he sighed and resigned to my forced silence. Although he was in my thoughts, I only allowed myself to look up once, but when I did he was staring. His expression seemed... disappointed. I had to bite back a laugh after that. He more than likely was pitying me. Soon enough Landon would get a clue and leave me to my happy solitude.
Landon just happened to also be in science and history with me.The stupid boy even had varsity theatre with me. How the heck did he make varsity half-way through a quarter? I don’t think anyone in the history of the world had as many classes together as I had with Landon. It wasn’t statistically possible. My annoyance quickly grew into anger as the rest of the day passed. By the time I returned home I was seething.
Climbing the carpeted stairs I tried to erase any irritation that I felt. My room wasn’t huge, but it was definitely mine. Everything from the black walls to the scattered colored pencils defined a part of me.Photographs and print-outs covered the wall farthest from my bed, but even the random song quotes couldn’t cheer me up, so I ignored my large load of homework and pulled my favorite fairytale off of the crowded bookshelf.
I layed on my bed and began to read. Almost instantly I was lost in the fairytales. Gorgeous princes, glittering ball gowns, magic spells, and dreams come true. The fantasy seemed much better than reality, but of course the universe had something entirely different planned for me.
A/N Yup. Two Alli POV's in a row. The next one will probs be Alli too. Unless its Landon. Havent really decided. Whatever.
