Chapter 7

Landons POV

I sat on her porch for almost an hour trying to decipher what I had done wrong. I knew that she was angry, but I didnt know why. Growing up in a secluded school, and spending all of my time learning had not allowed me to develope many "people skills". I had never thought that i would need to be normal, so i never cared enough to learn the etiquett of an average American teen. Why would i? The elders told me that she was the perfect match for my abilities, but maybe they should have looked into personality. 

     I sighed and rose from the porch step. I decided that i had a little bit of research to do. After running to my hotel and changing clothes I headed to a shopping center about an hour outside of town. I walked in through a large department store. I didnt stp t look, just walked straight throught. It exited into a loud hall. Different stores lined the walls, and various vendors had booths set up in the middle of the walkway selling this or that. I sat on a bench and began to watch.

     The shopping center was crowded with kids my age. They laughed and talked ducking into stores and returning with plastic sacks full of purchased items. I studied teen after teen: the way the acted, and reacted. It seemed like some were complete opposites, and I noticed different groups tended to be made of the same type of people. I was starting to understand which people fell into which category. This was only a small victory though because I had absolutely no idea where Allison would fit. 

       It had been almost four hours when I finally got bored and returned to Snowflake. I felt like although I had gleaned a lot of information, I hadn't learned anything usefull. I was sill exactly where i had started.
