Landons POV:

“Show me” she demanded. I had just finished explaining to her about why I was here. I told her about her powers and about mine. I could tell that she didn’t think I was lying, but she still wanted proof.

Without looking up at her I took a deep breath and focused on my powers. I felt the heat radiating in my very core. Drawing upon that feeling I lit my palm on fire. Allison jumped away from the small flame.

She studied the fire intently like she was trying to figure out a confusing puzzle. After a moment I stepped towards her, and let the flame fizzle out.

“You want to see something really cool?” I asked. She eyed me hesitantly but nodded slowly. I could tell that she wasn’t yet at the point where she trusted me completely but we were getting there. I let the flame dye down and reached for one of her hands. She didn’t stop me.

With her small hand enclosed in both of my hands,I reached for my power once again. This time I also focused on my connection to Allison. I brushed against her magic with mine and knew instantly that what I wanted to do would work.

The comforting heat rushed into my hands once again as the fire caught. Allison’s eyes bugged as she tried to escape, but I had her hand locked between mine. She let out a small shriek and then suddenly went rigid. Her eyes bore into mine and she whispered “I’m not burning” She burst out laughing.

“I’m not burning!” She shrieked with joy. Her laughter was contagious and I couldn’t help joining in. I was so relieved that she knew the truth. It meant that I could finally start training her in her own magic, and I was more excited about it than a four year-old boy playing in mud.
