Denki walked out into the stadium to a roar of applause and cheering. The opening day of the sports festival. Finally, after months of training, they had arrived to the next test of their strengths, this one the most important of them all. Heroes lined the stands, scouting new interns and making judgments on the next class of heroes.

"Damn, that's a lot of people," Sero said quietly, almost to the point it was a whisper. His face was an unusual shade of green.

"You nervous?" Denki asked, smirking.

"Yes, you freaking robot, what am I supposed to be, cocky?" Sero asked him sarcasticaly.

This only amused the blonde, who's smirk only grew, much to his friend's and classmates' annoyance.

"Why yes, dear Sero Hanta," Denki replied in his terrible imitation of All Might, "Think of this not as a chance to fail, but a chance to show everyone your brilliance. Fear not, for I am here!"

Denki grinned confidently at his friend, and subsequently, the crowd of contestants behind him, who stood frozen in shock at the stupidity of Denki.

"Dude, your All Might impression is embarrassing," Sero hissed at him," Shut the hell up bef-"

The hall suddenly erupted in applause and cheers, cutting the tape hero off. People Denki didn't even recognize cheered his name.

"Yeah, you go man!"

"That was an amazing speech!"

"Super manly, Kaminari!" Kirishima screamed, manly tears running down his cheek.

Sero looked at the crowd with exasperation.

"Please, don't encourage this idiot," Sero groaned, "It'll get worse."

"What's he doing now?" Kyouka asked the dark haired boy.

"He's being stupid, Jirou," Sero sighed in defeat.

Denki paid this no mind, he was too busy laughing in triumph.

About an hour later, the same Denki was breezing past the obstacle course on the faux villain he had commandeered. Being a quick strategist and unafraid of these trivial robots, he had charged into an incoming fist, vaulted onto the arm and sprinted at a super-human burst of speed to arrive at the back of the head. Using his quirk he was able to control the robot's movements  and propel him to 4th place.

In front of him, however, was a battle of wills; Midoriya, Todoroki, and Bakugou were duking out aiming for the first place. The tunnel was incoming and he would lose his advantage, so he started formulating a plan.

"I need to get in front of them before the tunnel, where all quirks are rendered useless," Denki thought, moving his hands to control his robot as it rumbled over the minefield, "but how?"

Then, an idea. He glanced at the robot's fist, which according to his reads on the circuitry, could extend at a speed excess of 160 km/h. Taking this to mind, Denki quickly intertwined the wires to put the robot into auto-pilot. He hopped head and onto the shoulder. As he sprinted down the arm, he kept his left hand on the arm, commanding the arm to lift at a pre-calculated angle.

As he arrived on the edge of the fist, he mustered all the strength to his legs, focusing on the individual muscles strengthing preparing to explode into one huge leap. Electricity crackled around him, and he could feel his mind going blank as all unnecessary senses faded away.

This height. This angle. This speed. It all lined up.

With a flick of his wrist, the robot's fist extended out pushing him out. Before his feet left the fist, he used all the energy to push out into one long jump. In a flash, he was airborne. In the distantce, he could hear the explosion of his jump. He had broken the sound barrier. He didn't look back, but the robot had exploded a moment later due to the pressure of his jump. His 3 compatriots looked behind them in wonder, then looked up as Denki passed them. Denki looked at the ground and calculated the force he would land. It was an immense amount, surely it would kill him.

Another idea. Denki realized he could absorb the energy at the exact moment he landed, then use it to open up another super-human burst to the finish. But he would need to be percise, one wrong move would kill him. As the ground approached he prayed to the gods.

"Whoever god can see this stupid stunt, please bless my poor soul," he whispered.

The world slowed as he was only a centimeter from the ground. Denki could feel godly amounts of energy. So he took all of the energy and put it into his legs. He grunted as the energy struggled against him, fighting to be free, threatening to destroy his legs if they were kept in any longer. Denki felt the touch of ground.

But he looked to his right, Midoriya. His left, Todoroki. A fuming Bakugou not far behind, he supposed. He could feel another surge of energy coming from Midoriya's legs. They were glowing from energy. His eyes were a dipiction of determination.  Denki's eyes widened; they were both shooting for first.

In that moment, both of them exploded ferociously, breaking the sound barrier, sending a shockwave so powerful it blew Todoroki and a screaming Bakugou back.

It didn't matter, they were still neck and neck. The rush of air was intense, and the two of them had tears running out of their eyes from the strain. Both could see the end of the tunnel. They extended their arms in desperation.

Denki fell first. He hit the ground a rolled roughly in the dirt, scratching himself. Quickly, however, he struggled to get up. Disregarding the yells and cheers and applause, he looked towards his opponent. He stood, only to fall back down; his legs too weak to support him. So he crawled.

Midoriya was also on the ground, apparently too weak to stand as well. Denki's fears were confirmed, his quirk had taken out his legs.

"Midoriya," Denki croaked, "Are you ok?"

"Kaminari," Midoriya croaked back, "Yeah, just a bit tired, how about you?"

Denki struggled to get up once more. This time, he rose despite the pain. Two super-sonic bursts was too much. He gave his hand to his compatriot. Midoriya took it and stood, shaking a little bit. It seemed his legs were fine, not comepletely destroyed like initially believed.

This cued the famous mutterings of Midoriya. Denki sighed in exasperation as the green-haired boy talked over and over again. Denki caught little snippets like, "Wow, so that's how he does it," and "Can I replicate this?", things like that.

Denki sighed again.

"You're a funny guy, Midoriya," Denki said to him, which brought the buy out from his thoughts.

"Oh? Yeah, sorry, I have a bad habit of doing that, sorry to bother you, Kaminari," Midoriya apologized.

"No it's fine really, I think it's cool you keep thinking every single moment," Denki replied with a smile on his face. Then, on impulse, he put his fist up for Midoriya to bump.

"There's no reason to be embarressed for being who you are, Midoriya," Denki told him.

Midoriya took a moment. Then he returned the smile and bumped his fist.

"Yeah, no reason."
