Denki stretched out in his preperation room. He felt his muscles loosen up as he let his mind wander. He leaned onto his right leg, stretching every muscle in his left leg. He felt yesterday's bruises and scratches as if they were given only minutes before. But his mind went blank as he continued his stretching routine.

He reflected on his opponent; the daunting Shoto Todoroki. He had watched his competitor duel it out with Midoriya, a frightening show of power. But Denki knew that Todoroki had a loathing for his fire,so perhaps he wouldn't use it? A viable yet minute chance. Denki had trained incessantly, yet he wasn't confident in himself to fully devote himself to a brawl. He knew of the versatility of the ice quirk and the limits of his own quirk. Brute force wasn't an option. Todoroki just had a better handle of his quirk and a overall better quirk. He also had a ace up his sleeve in the form of his flames. What did Denki have?

"Nothing much as it seems," Denki muttered as he felt his hamstring tightened and loosened. Todoroki could literally blast him out of the rink with a wall of ice, and Denki had no counter. And if the icy-hot boi decided to unleash his flames, what else did Denki have?

He had speed.

It might've been in short bursts, but there were times where Denki could go faster than light, seeming to teleport. Examples like the cavalry battle, his incident with the robot, and his battle with Iida. But in all those times, he had been pushed to the brink. Beside, it wasn't a very reliable way of moving; he could prematurely exit lightspeed and end up in a sticky situation. But he also didn't have time to build up the energy or a place to extract it from, meaning he had only what he went in with.

"Wait!" Denki realized, "I can start building it up in here, that's considered preperation."

So then the blonde set about it by meditating. It wasn't the best way, since he wasn't the most still personality. But he forced himself to build up the energy and expand it. He could feel it build up inside of his stomach, the electricity strting to crackle as he sat still. His mind ran miles while his legs sat still. His mind started to reach it's limit, the white starting to cover his vision until he could see no more.

Denki took a breath, and bit his hand, drawing blood, the pain bringing back the sense of mind. This was no time for idiotic grievances, just work.

Kyouka watched as Bakugou repeatedly beat Kirishima with firey blasts. It was clear to the spectators, he was not holding back. No, not one bit. Kirishima valued a god, manly fight, so they would fight to the death. However, Bakugou slipped up as his stamina, seemingly endless, waned. Kirishima took advantage and laid a barrage of hardened fists into Bakugou's body. The stadium could practically hear the crunch of bone as the Kirishima hammered Bakugou. If you saw this fight without the context of the stakes of this competition, you would be very surprised that these two powerhouses were friends at all.

The looks on their faces slightly frightened Kyouka. Of course, she was used to Bakugou, but she had seemingly discovered a new side to all the contestants that had come in; the determination of Uraraka, Midoriya, and Sero, the clinical perfection of Iida and Shiozaki, the tough and unmoving sturdiness of Kirishima, TetsuTetsu and Tokoyami, and the pure sheer power of Todoroki and Bakugou. Things she admired.

But she had seen things she rather would forget. The reputable Momo being ousted and reduced to a crying mess in the locker room, the battered Mina after a tough fight with Tokoyami, the defeated Class Rep lying unresponsive after a brave attempt to stay awake, the look of despair on Sero's face after being utterly humiliated in a fight that lasted barely a minute. But most of all, she was scared of the monsters.
