He took me into his arms,

I was meant to feel safe.

but safety was far from the feeling that consumed me.

I was a prisoner intertwined with his veins and hollowed out chest.

Every spoken word was like a blade across each damned wrist.

His eyes blazed with the fury of a hundred hell fires.

I reached out to you as if you could save me from this void of oblivion.

The more I reached, the further you got.

You gazed at me with yearning desire.

the desire to save me, but I was already gone.

The time came and I cut each of his arms that were as thick as roots of a thousand year old tree.

I cut away tasting freedom in each drop of the scarlet blood that stained my tongue and teeth.

I cut away hearing symphonies in each of his shrieks of agony.

I cut away and saw the light of heaven in his lifeless eyes.

I ran to you like I was running with wolves. I ran faster than my own heartbeat.

Ran faster than the howling wind.

Ran faster than the stars that filled my mind.

You were so close, I could've touched your porcelain skin.

But the look you gave me was colder than the air that filled my lungs, so I knew

you weren't real...you never were. I manifested you into a reality that was never real. And now...

Im free.
