"General Kenobi, years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars."

Orona's heart was in her throat as she listened to her dear friend's message. This was all too much—being back on Tatooine was bad enough, and now Leia's life was on the line.

The group of stragglers and rebels were just as tense as her, gathered around Artoo while he projected Princess Leia's transmission.

"Now, he begs you to help him in his struggle against the Empire. I regret that I am unable to present my father's request to you in person, but my ship has fallen under attack and I'm afraid my mission to bring you to Alderaan has failed," said Leia's blue hologram solemnly. "I have placed information vital to the survival of the Rebellion into the memory systems of this R2 unit. My father will know how to retrieve it. You must see this droid safely delivered to him on Alderaan. This is our most desperate hour. Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope."

The transmission cut out with a little static, and the room held its breath.

Silently, Kenobi puffed on his tarnished old pipe, before setting it down and speaking directly to Luke, "You must learn the ways of the Force if you're to come with me to Alderaan."

Cassian scoffed, and Kes's face scrunched in disapproval.

"Alderaan? I'm not going to Alderaan. I've got to go home. It's late. I'm in for it as it is!" Luke exclaimed, just as shocked as the rebels.

"Kenobi, you've got to be kidding—he's a child! He has no experience!" Cassian butted in, standing as his anger flared.

"I need your help, Luke. She needs your help. I'm getting too old for this sort of thing," said old Kenobi.

"Like hell you need his help!" snapped Cassian, his Festian accent even more prominent in his fury.

Orona's lips parted, a sigh escaping while she watched her Captain. She didn't even notice Jyn's smirk.

"I can't get involved! I've got work to do! It's not that I like the Empire, I hate it! But there's nothing I can do about it right now. It's such a long way from here," said Luke.

"I'm with Luke and Cassian on this," asserted Kes. "You have four battle-trained soldiers and a doctor. What do you need a kid from the Outer Rim for when you're already training her?"

Kenobi remained calm, simply stating, "He is far more than you believe," he looked to Orona, "as are you, but for different reasons, I sense."

What the hell does that mean? Orona's head still ached from her past episode.

Cassian raked his hands through his hair, then flung them angrily down to his sides. "You've got to be kidding me!"

Orona held Kenobi's stare, tilting her head for a full minute before she narrowed her eyes, her jaw set. There's a reason for this, she realized, Kenobi must know something about Luke that they didn't. Her eyes flitted between Luke's reluctant figure and Kenobi's patient expression while the company continued to argue.
