By the next day, Camp Half Blood had seemed to have forgotten about the new prophecy. Everyone except a group of five friends.
"So we got a new prophecy," Scorpio mumbled under his breath. "What's up with is anyways?"
"Well, I don't know!" Taurus replied. "Cappy, you're a daughter of Athena, do you have any guesses about what this prophecy means?"
Capricorn sat there, leaning on Taurus' shoulder.
"I think she's asleep." Cancer said.
Pisces poked Capricorn in the arm. "Wake up, Cappy!"
Capricorn woke up abruptly. "What did I miss?"
"When did you even sleep last night?" Taurus asked her friend.
"I don't know." Capricorn replied, rubbing her eyes. "I was trying to find stuff on prophecies and dosed off in the middle of it."
"Well, 'The twelve zodiac spirits have come down to this world, all inhabiting six boys and six girls,'." Cancer read off a piece of paper. "I think maybe the zodiac sign constellations are down here on Earth? And they're in the bodies of six boys and six girls? I'm not that sure."
Pisces looked at him. "Wow, I didn't know you could memorise all that."
"I wrote it down, Pisces" Cancer said, rolling his eyes.
"I guess that all makes sense so far." Scorpio piped up. "Apparently the zodiac sign constellations have spirits which are down here on Earth. There are twelve of them, and each zodiac sign spirit thing is probably in the body of a boy or girl out there. Twelve zodiacs, six boys, six girls."
The four other friends nodded in agreement.
"What about the next lines?" Taurus asked. "'Demigods fear that something is up, for the fall of the signs is the fall of Olympus.'?"
"I think it's pretty simple when you think about it." Pisces replied. "If the signs die, Olympus dies."
"Olympus dies?" Capricorn asked. "Olympus is a place, it can't die."
"Well, you get the idea." Pisces said. "The signs fail whatever it is they're going to do, Olympus falls. They die, Olympus... well, falls."
The five friends sat there in silence. None of them wanted to believe it, but there was a possibility that a threat was coming. One that could wipe Olympus off the map forever.
Cancer spoke next. "But what about the other lines? There's something about a thirteenth zodiac, and Ilium's cursed prophetess."
Before anyone could answer, Chiron, the activities director, walked past them. He was mumbling to himself.
"It can't be another one of those prophecies." He said to himself. "It can't be."
Taurus' ears perked up. "You guys hear that?"
Scorpio nodded. "Let's follow him."
The five of them slowly tip-toed to the Big House, where Chiron was heading. They followed him to his office, where he paced the room as the five of them crouched under his desk.
They listened as Chiron repeated the prophecy, then again in Greek.
"A prophecy of the zodiac signs?" He asked himself. "Spirits of the zodiac signs inhabiting boys and girls... I never thought that this would happen. 'A new threat, prepared to take a hike,'... yes, it is likely that they'll go after the original Olympus."
Original Olympus? Taurus thought. Does he meant Mt. Olympus? In Greece?
Chiron kept pacing the room and mumbling to himself. "'War will arise when the murderer departs.'? The murderer must be some kind of monster. But there are many kinds of monsters. Or could the murderer be a demigod?"
"A demigod? A murderer?" Pisces whispered.
Taurus put her finger over her mouth to tell him to be quiet.
Chiron heard them. He looked over at them from where he stood.
"Well, I should've known that you five were here." He said.
The five friends scrambled out from under the desk, each looking apologetically at Chiron.
"We didn't mean to eavesdrop." Capricorn apologised. "We were just curious-"
To their surprise, Chiron laughed.
"Curiosity is a very special thing." He said. "An overdose could cause you trouble, but not listening to it would drive you mad."
The friends looked at each other, confused.
Chiron laughed again. "I wouldn't blame you five for being curious. This prophecy is unlike other prophecies. Only two other prophecies have been made that are like this one." He looked at the five friends, as if expecting one of them to give him an answer.
"Do you mean... that this is another Great Prophecy?" Cancer asked nervously.
Chiron nodded. "Yes, as I understand it."
The five teenagers looked at each other nervously. If this was another Great Prophecy, the sake of the worlds, both Greek, Roman, and maybe even mortal worlds, would be at stake.
Chiron sensed their worry. "The Romans know about this new prophecy. The praetors and I are all worrying about it, but you five shouldn't for now. I suggest you all go out and enjoy the sun." He paused. "Speaking of the Romans, I have thought about arranging summer programs between the two camps. There will, perhaps, be an exchange. I think we can try handle sending 60 campers over to Camp Jupiter for summer programs. I have communicated with the praetors of the Twelfth Legion Fulminata, and I think they will be sending 60 campers over here. I need you five to help with showing them around."
Scorpio looked at his feet. "I don't think I'm very good with people."
"No worries, I think you can help them fit in just fine." Chiron told him with a smile. "Well, you five should go out now. It's almost time for lunch."
~~~
"Why should we not worry about the prophecy?" Pisces asked. "It's literally about Olympus falling!"
"Oh my gods, Pisces, calm down!" Capricorn chided him.
"Can you two not shout across tables?" Taurus shouted at them. At this, Pisces and Capricorn quieted down.
Taurus looked down at her lunch. She wasn't feeling very hungry today. All she could think about was that prophecy. She wished that she could sit with her friends and talk more about it, but she couldn't. Her siblings weren't interested in the prophecy. In fact, they were busy talking about the mortal newspapers.
"Have you heard?" One of Taurus' sisters asked her, holding up a mortal newspaper. "This boy called Victor Maidenson murdered someone not that far from here."
She held up the newspaper for Taurus to see. On the image was a headless figure lying on the ground which looked strangely like that of a blemmyae.
"Are you sure that this is a mortal and not a blemmyae?" Taurus asked.
"Don't be silly Taurus, this is the mortal news we're talking about." Her sister chided.
Taurus studied the body on the ground again. The severed head didn't have any blood coming out of it. In fact, it looked very metal-like. The blood was coming out of the body area. Lying beside the body was some sort of identity card. Taurus squinted to see what it was. There was a symbol on it that looked all too familiar.
It was the symbol on the card Taurus found lying on the ground after her father's death.
