Scorpio noticed that something was very wrong with Virgo.
Virgo seemed to be avoiding everyone at the moment. It would've been normal to Scorpio, except for the fact that the footstep noises that he kept hearing at night probably belonged to Virgo.
"It seems like every time you come back from your 'midnight strolls' you get a new scar!" Capricorn told Virgo at breakfast.
"It's not that big of a deal!" Virgo protested.
"Your alibi 'I crashed into a tree' seems a bit... overused." Scorpio said.
"Yeah but I-" Virgo stammered. "I- that's what happened to me!"
"You've been crashing into trees for one whole week, Virgo." said Capricorn, sighing. "You can't possibly be that clumsy."
"I just-" Virgo sighed frustratedly. "Look, I crashed into a tree, no big deal." He left the dining pavilion, leaving the rest of his friends confused.
Scorpio knew something was up. He could literally sense it. He needed to find out what was wrong with his friend.
"Well I guess someone's being shady." Leo said, ruining the moment of silence, taking a pair of shades out of nowhere and putting them on.
Aries rolled her eyes. "Not another pun, Leo."
"Um, yes another pun!" Sagittarius exclaimed, stifling a laugh.
Aquarius sighed, and said, "I can't believe that you think that this is the right time for puns."
"I can't believe that you and Gemini still aren't together." Libra whispered, giggling.
Aquarius heard this. "Let's not forget the fact that Aries was carrying you bridal style a few days before."
"I was trying to catch her, idiot!" Aries protested. "And besides, Gemini is literally using you as a pillow right now."
She wasn't wrong. Gemini, who had sat down at the table and ate nothing, was resting his head on Aquarius shoulder, asleep.
Aquarius said nothing, but his face turned a shade of pale pink.
Scorpio got up from his seat. "I'm going to see if Virgo's okay." Without saying anything else, he left the dining pavilion.
After a long while of finding Virgo, Scorpio found him sitting in the sword fighting arena, watching the friendly hellhound Mrs O'Leary chase her own tail in the distance.
Scorpio took a seat next to him. "You good?" He asked Virgo, making Virgo jump.
"Mhm." Virgo said softly, avoiding his gaze.
I know he's lying. Scorpio thought to himself, noting how Virgo's gaze refused to meet his eyes.
"You know, sooner or later, I'm going to find out what you're hiding." He said absentmindedly.
This made Virgo tense. "W-what?"
"I didn't mean to say that out loud. Sorry if I sound intimidating." Scorpio apologised.
"It's alright." Virgo replied. "Out of curiosity, what were you thinking about that made you say that?"
Is he actually curious, or is he trying to cover something up? Scorpio thought. His question was quickly answered by Virgo's confession.
"Alright, alright, I lied." He confessed. "I didn't think anyone would find out."
"Find out what?" Scorpio asked.
Virgo sighed. "A lot of things. I really shouldn't have overused my 'I crashed into a tree' alibi."
"So if you didn't crash into a tree, what happened?" questioned Scorpio. "And why are you even going out at night? Aren't you afraid of the cleaning harpies?"
