Gina’s POV

Minutes turned into hours which turned into days. This hospital was a permanent dwelling; once you entered you would have hell of a time exiting. Harry was still in critical condition, and he needed blood. His body wasn’t producing it quickly enough.

He stayed in the ICU and the legalities of his aunt to come donate blood was a touchy matter. She infact tested to have the same blood type as Harry. None of us were complaining, but we needed her here soon. I felt bad for Gemma though, how was she going to feel about seeing her mother like this? In this situation?

I constantly prayed for Harry. I prayed for his recovery, and that he wouldn’t die. None of this was guaranteed, but if he had blood it would help him. The other people in the hospital that did infact have his blood type, they would not donate. They needed their own, so they explained, because they were sick, and didnt want to die.

None of this made sense. Harry’s blood was rare, but not so rare that not one person would donate. Marco had called Harry’s father, but that was something none of us wanted to discuss. His father refused to come. His father was too busy working to care about his son.

I sit up straighter in the uncomfortable chair and I see Gemma walking in from outside. She has tears in her eyes, and her hair is tangled on top of her head. None of us had even left since we were all admitted here.

Gemma and I were healing nicely, but none of that mattered if Harry wasnt ok. Marco walked in behind Gemma, followed by LauraKate, and a woman in an orange jumpsuit, followed by 2 officers.

I stood to my feet immediately with Nanny and Daughtree flanking me. I push my hair from my face and I stare at Marco.

“Whats going on?” I ask quickly.

“She can be here to donate. She is donating her spleen as well. She is a match.” LauraKate answers.

I look at Marco, but he has his head down.

“She is here for one reason, and one reason only. No socializing with her.” Marco says sternly.

Gemma steps beside me and has tears pouring down her face.

“Mum…” She says.

I can hear the pain in her voice. Her voice cracked. I put my hand between her shoulder blades and she tenses. Gemma steps forward towards her mother and the officers step in front of Gemma.

“Ma’am, you may not talk to the convict.” The officers says to her.

Gemma glares at the man and then she takes a step back and points at her mom.

“That is my mum! I will talk to her is I please. She is….. I need to speak to her.” Gemma says.

“She may speak to her while Anne is donating her blood and platelets.” LauraKate says, looking at Marco.

Marco’s jaw tenses as he walks away. I lock eyes with Anna, Harry’s aunt, and I gasp. I dont know exactly I was expecting when I saw her, but it wasnt that. I saw a picture of Harry’s mother before, and Anne and Natalie were identical. Harry was a spitting image of her.

She quickly looked away from me and she followed to officers to the waiting room. I followed behind them and I sat across from Anne. I didnt care where my Nanny was,,I didnt care where Daughtree was, or even Gemma. All I cared about was speaking to this woman first.

I clear my throat and I lock eyes with her again.

I didnt know what to say.

Harry had her eyes, she was so beautiful.
