One Wish

Chapter 6

Tris POV
My eyes opened, I saw a bright light. I knew I was in the hospital again. This time I had the little nose numbs in my nose, so I could breath.
"Look who's awake."
"Hi, mom."
"You're fine. It's 1:37am. You can go to school today, if you want."
"Yeah, I'd like too."
"I'll go tell the doctor, so he can write you a pass for being absent, and one for gym. If you're late just show them this, because you don't want to not be able to breath."

I smiled. Finally getting out, going to school. My mom helped me to the bathroom, where I changed into today's outfit. A sweater, leggings, uggs, beanie, scarf, necklace, and a shrug. (At the beginning of chapter.) I came out, all set.

We left for home, and it was 5:26 when we got there. Caleb was sitting at the table, probably waiting for us. When I walked through the door, he looked up and smiled, "Beatrice, I'm so happy your okay. I've been such a jerk lately. I don't know why. I feel terrible. Please forgive me."
"I guess I can. As long as you stop making fun of me and actually acknowledge me at school. I'm going to need help getting around. The cancer's back and it's terrible. Can you help me walk around at school if I need it."
"Yes.
"Then I forgive you."
"Thank you." He gets up and hugs me.

We got in Caleb's jeep and we're off to school. Instead of me just leaving right away out of his car, he came to my side and helped me down. He walked with his arm around me right past his friends and into the school.

Four POV
Caleb had his arm around Tris, and walked right past us. We all stared at him as they walked in the school. "Hey guys, she probably told on him or something." They started laughing along with me.

I go in the school with Lauren. She's my girlfriend now. We see Tris in the hallway. Caleb wasn't there. We walk up to her and Lauren pushes her books to the floor. She jumps, startled, and Lauren and I laugh. "Loser," Lauren says, still laughing. We walk away but Lauren trips her and she falls to the ground.

Tris POV
Caleb went to his one teachers class, while I went to my locker. I was there until Four and Lauren walked past. Lauren pushes my books to the ground. As they walk by, Lauren trips me. I fall instantly and can feel sharp pains in my chest. I try to stand but can't and I start coughing up blood and that's when the bad starts.

Christina POV (bet you didn't expect that)
I was walking with Will when we saw Tris on the ground. She was coughing up blood. We decided to help her. We never agreed with Four or Lauren, just acted like we did. I help her stand and she leans onto me. Will picks up her bag and books while shutting her locker. We decide to go find Caleb. We found him in Ms. Waters class. He calls his mom and she comes to pick her up. I really hope she's okay.

Today, Shauna, Marlene, Will, me, Zeke, Uriah, and Caleb sit without Four and Lauren because we never agreed with them. They're just the most popular, so we had to agree.

Caleb POV
After school, Christina, Shauna, Marlene, Will, Zeke, and Uriah all come over after school, so when Tris comes home, we can surprise her.
We hear a car come up the driveway.

Tris POV
When I wake up I'm connected to the breather thingy again. Why do I keep waking up in hospitals. My mom, to my left says, "Honey, you ran out of oxygen, so now you'll need to carry an oxygen tank around everyday, all the time. At night, you'll have a ventilator."

I start crying because I don't want this. I never asked for this. Why me? Why not Lauren or Four? Then I could make fun of them. I hate my life.

We leave the hospital shortly after, and I come home with the nose pieces in hooked around my ears, and connected to the tank. I walk slowly. My mom goes to unlock the door. I walk in...
