Recap: We walked in...
Tris POV
I'm lying on my bed, waiting, for anyone to visit. I'm hooked up to many machines and look extremely pale. My eyes want to close, but I'm afraid I'll be put in an endless sleep of darkness. I don't want that. I can't have that. I'll leave everyone I love. The people that hate me will probably be happy, but then again maybe not. Four did do a lot for me, but I least I won't have to see him. Yay. Not. I'd rather see him then be dead, but that's not an option.
I hear a knock. I try to keep my eyes open, but they keep blinking. I don't know if I can hold on any longer. I see Caleb and Four walk in. Am I seeing right, Four? Odd. They walk up to me, and Caleb grabs my hand. "I love you baby sis." Just then my eyes close. I hope not forever, but I can't make any promises.
Four POV
Caleb and I walk in to see a terrible looking Tris. She's extremely pale and so many machines are hooked up to her. There's beeping and not to be mean, she reeks. Caleb goes over to her and holds her hand and talks to her. I only notice when her eyes close, because Caleb starts to sob. I don't blame him. If that were my sister, I'd do the same. I don't have a sister though, so I can't really do anything. I could try to comfort him, but I don't know if I should.
After about 10 minutes of awkward silence, a doctor comes in. "Okay, um she needs to be prepped for surgery. You can see here afterwords, but family only. I'll be back in 5 minutes to get her. She's brave. She'll make it. I promise."
I knew that promises are most often not kept. Especially in a hospital. I know this from experience. I had a younger sister named Kelli. She died in a car crash, caused by her boyfriend, Jacob. He died too. I was happy he did but sad because my sister was too young. It's not fair. That's when life hit me hard in the face, saying, Life is not fair.
The doctors said she would live. She almost did, but didn't. After that, I was heartbroken. They said they did everything, but I'm not so sure. I know what Caleb's feeling. I went through the same with Kelli. Different things, but still the same feelings. I look at Tris, and realize something. I may be in love with her, Tris Prior...
