All rights to Veronica Roth. Except the plot. On with the story...

Tris POV
I wake up in my bed at home. Apparently I was taken home after my surgery. I have blankets on top of me and it's difficult to move because of them. I just lye here. Not sure of what else to do. Today was Friday. I missed school. Great. Another day for Lauren and her squad, plus Peter and his to get back at me. I try sitting up and actually make it.

I got a message on my phone from Christina. There was a school dance one week from today. I doubt I'd be able to go. Why would I anyway, I mean I can barely stand up without someone's help. I'd just be a burden for the person. I understand that Caleb will be going. He's probably going to ask Cara. They've been getting along quite well. I'll just stay at home eating cookie dough ice cream like any other girl who wasn't asked to the dance. It's a winter ball. White and blues, plus light colored dresses. I guess reality hits a person hard when they know they can't go. I wish I could. I sit there and decide to get up. I'm hooked up to my tank so I can actually breath. I roll it to my window and take a seat.

I look down and see two little kids. The girl is laughing while the boy is tickling her. They look so cute together. That would never be me. I wish it was. I keep looking at them and then the boy kisses her cheek. She giggles and they keep talking. Why can't I have this life? The life that has no limits. The life where I could do anything. The life where I'd be happy. I sit there thinking about so many things, as silent tears stream down my face.

Four POV
Tris made it through surgery and was taken home. I was quite revealed. I'm starting to care about her. My feelings are opening up and I know that i don't want to be with Lauren. I don't know what to do though. I can't just go and ask out Tris. Caleb would probably never approve. But then again, it's not his decision, it's Tris's.

I know that Caleb and I live beside each other. That's how we became such good friends. I never knew Tris's room was across from mine though. She's sitting beside her window, looking down. They are two little kids down there. Looking down at them makes me smile. I look back at Tris to see tears streaming down her face. I just want to go over to her and hug her, wipe away the tears, and kiss her. Yes, I said kiss her.

Christina sent out a mass text message to literally everyone. It reads, Oh my gosh. Guys, there's a Winter ball on December 19. It's the 12th, so we don't have much time. Girls, we need to have a sleepover. Boys, you need to have a party. Get ready everyone! I'll make sure every girl has a dress, and every boy has a suit. I will also make sure everyone has a date. Oh and one more thing, we need to make reservations for a fancy restaurant after the ball and then we can go to Caleb and Tris's house for a party. xoxoChristina.

Oh yay. Note the sarcasm. I got to ask Tris out. I just hope she says yes. Christina really wants this night to be perfect. I wonder if she can help me ask Tris out. I decide to call her.

"Hello?"
"I need your help to ask Tris out."
"I'm on my way." Now I just need to wait.

What's the plan? Read. Review. Comment.
I might do like a chapter for the 'asking out.' A chapter or two for the dress/suit picking, and definitely a lot of chapters for the actual ball. Tell me what you think.
