Sara’s POV
We pulled away after a few minutes. I missed the taste of his lips. We looked at the tree which didn’t have the topper on yet. I went over to the lights and turned them off then walked over to Mitch.
“Mitch…do you remember our first christmas together?” I asked as we made our way over to the couch by the fire.
“I do…it was when your hair started to grow back. You actually did look cute with short hair…anyway…It was also when our families meet each other for the first time. You and I cooked christmas diner…your parents, Ron’s sister and your aunt Crane set the table. After my family arrived we brought out the food, we all ate and we put the topper on top of the tree.” He said as we sat out the couch, I rested my head on his shoulder and he wrapped an arm around me.
“Then We all opened presents that everyone brought.” I finished and we both looked into the fire.
“You still haven’t explained to me why we put the topper on top of the tree Christmas day.” Mitch said and we looked at each other.
“Just a tradition in Lia’s family. You do remember that she had you and me put the topper on together right?”
“Of course.” We then looked back to the fire and I scooted a little closer to Mitch.
“Well…Lia told me after you and your family left that the newest couple in the family does it tip a new couple comes along. That old silver and gold star has been in her family for generations and…eventually I will get it when they pass away. That’s why we’re not using the topper that was in one of the boxes.”
“You mean that your parents are traveling, with a most likely fragile tree topper, from Canada to California?” Mitch asked and I nodded.
“Ok then…” We continued talking and I eventually fell asleep on Mitch’s shoulder with his arms around me.

Jerome’s POV
I woke up and stretched. I was a little sore from helping to decorate the house but I just ignored it. I did my regular morning routine and when I got to the bottom of the stairs I raised an eyebrow when I saw the top of Sara’s and Mitch’s heads. I walked around the conch and my eyes widened when I saw Sara in Mitch's arms wither head on his shoulder.
“What happened after I went to bed?” I thought out loud and looked looked at the tree. it was fully decorated but the tree topper wasn’t on top. I walked over to one of the bins and grabbed the topper. I climbed the ladder and when I was about to place it on top I was stopped.
“Don’t you dare Jerome!” I heard Sara yell and before I could react the ladder tipped over and I fell on my back with the ladder nearly hitting me in the face with the topper still in my hand. I groaned and sat up holding my back with my free hand. I look over at Sara who was looking over the back of the couch, glaring at me.
“Sara what the hell?” I asked as I stood up slowly and walked around the couch and sat in a chair. Mitch looked at me and adjusted himself so that he wasn’t about to fall off the couch.
“Biggums we aren’t putting that angel on top of the tree. Sara’s parents have a tradition where they place a family heirloom that has been passed down for generations on top of the tree on Christmas day. They’re bringing it with them so that’s why we’re not using that deformed angel.” He said and I looked at the angel. It did look deformed…one of the eyes were gone, the entire right side had random holes and the Halo was a whole bunch of weird colors. I looked at them, threw the angel over my shoulder and sighed.
“Ok then…so…what happened between you two last night?”
