Chapter 13

Mitch’s POV

The cab pulled up to the front of the lodge and we saw people on the slopes. I was nervous. I have never snowboarded or skied but I was going to with Sara. She has been doing both since she was adopted by here foster parents. She told me herself. We got out, got our bags, grabbed the carrier and went inside. Sara checked us in as I stood next to her like a pack mule

“Ok we’re all set.” Sara said excitedly.

“Great.” I said with a smile. She grabbed her bags, which helped, and we went to our room. After going into the room, placing our bags down and placing the carrier down I sat on the bed. I sighed and Sara sat down next to me.

“So want to take a quick rest then go to the slopes?” Sara asked. I nodded and took my jacket off along with my shoes. Sara did the same, let Jess out and we got in bed with Jess at the foot of the bed curled into a ball.

I woke up to Sara sleeping peacefully in front of me. I smiled slightly, kissed her forehead and I thought about what I was going to do. After a few minutes Sara woke up, smiled at me and we both sat up slowly. I stretched and she got out of bed. She filled the dog bowl in the carrier and went to one of her bags.

After forty minutes we were ready to head out. She handed me her snowboard and she grabbed her skis.

“Uh Sara?” I asked and she looked at me.

“Yeah?”

“I uh…don’t know how to snowboard…or how to use skis.” I said and she rolled her eyes.

“I already knew that. That’s why I gave you the snowboard since it’s basically a long skate board with no wheels.” She said and turned around. I raised an eyebrow and we left. After ten minutes of walking we got to the slopes and she lead me to one of the hills.

“Now…just ride on the snowboard like you ride on a skateboard.” She said as I strapped into the board. I looked down the slope, took a deep breath and went down. We didn’t go to one of the starter hills though. About halfway down I hit a bump and I landed on my back. I slid down the hill on my back the rest of the way. I lifted my head to see Sara heading down. She stopped in front of me a few minutes later.

“Not bad but next time try not to flop onto your back.” She said and I let my head hit the ground. She helped me up, I unstrapped from the board and we headed towards one of the lifts. After getting onto the lift she put her skis on, I strapped into the board and when we got to the top be dropped down. We started going down instantly and I kept trying to keep calm. Sara stayed next to me and we got down the the bottom five minutes later. We had gained speed on the way down and I didn’t know how to stop. Sara stopped her skis but I kept going.

“How do I stop!?” I yelled back to Sara. She yelled at me how to stop and when I looked forward I saw that I was about to hit a tree. I swerved to avoid it then tried stopping. I tumbled down the hill instead and hit a tree. A few minutes later I heard someone stop near me and I pushed away from the tree and fell on my back. I saw Sara looming over me.

“My face hurts.” I simply said and she laughed.

“This is going to be a long day.”

The rest of the day Sara instructed me and I eventually got the hand of it. We eventually got cold as well and made our way to the lodge. We got inside, got some hot chocolate and we sat in one of the couches in the lounge. Sara was curled up next to me and it was dark outside. We were the only people in there. We heard people coming in so I looked behind me to see a group of girls walk in. A few of them had guys on their arms. They all looked like they were in their twenties. Sara and I were watching one of the Christmas specials that lingers after the holidays. The name of it was ‘A Christmas story’ and it happens to be one of Sara’s favorite movies.

Just as the kid gets his tongue stuck to the metal pole the group that came in earlier sits down and snatches up the remote. He changes the channel and I looked at Sara to see her eye twitch. She then glared at the guy who had changed the channel and when I looked I saw the guy starting to freak out.

“Stop looking at me like that!” He said and covered his eyes. I saw the girls and the other guy laugh slightly.

“Dude just turn the movie back on.” The other guy said. The other girls then joined in on the glaring and I thought I could see smoke coming from his hands.

“Hey all the other girls are taking her side.” I said and when he uncovered his eyes he looked terrified.

“Fine I’ll turn it back just stop looking at me like that I feel like my head is about to felt!” He said and we all laughed slightly. He turned it back and I felt Sara snuggle closer to me. I looked at the group and spoke up.

“Sorry about that by the way. She loves this movie and when I change it she does the same thing.” I said and the guy nodded. For the next three hours Sara and I got to know the group of friends and we agreed to meet up at the slopes tomorrow. Sara and I went to our room and took car of Jess before we laid down in the bed.

“Long day.” Sara said with a sigh.

“A painfully long day.” I corrected her. Sara pulled out her phone and went onto an app that looked like an orange W.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

“Going to read. I found this app a week ago and I haven’t used it yet.” She said as she began to make an account.

“Let me guess…so you can read fanfics?” I asked.

“Yup. They are like a drug.” She said as she finished signing up. Jess tried to jump onto the bed. I smiled slightly, picked her up and started to pet her as she playfully bit my hand. I looked back over to see a picture of me on the front of a book. My eyes widened slightly and I raised a brow.

“What are you reading.” I asked as Jess continued to nibble on my hand.

“Just a random book.”

“That had my face on it? You’re reading a fanfic about me aren’t you? You know that I’m right here don’t you?”

“Yes I’m reading a fanfic about you. I just wanted to see if it was good. You know, some of your fans want you to do a fanfic reading video.” She said and looked at me with a smirk. She looked back at her phone.

“I know…but I don’t really know how it will turn out…” I said as I raised Jess above my head. I then placed her back on my lap.

“Well…why don’t we try it?” She asked and looked at me out of the corner of her eye.

Ok this me being random but I've kinda been branching out on youtube and watch more vloggers. And let just say that there are cute gamer youtubers...but there are a lot of cute vloggers. Guys and girls.

Ok so that was my little random thought. Anyway.
