*A few months later*
Mitch’s POV
It was december and It was just Jason, Jerome, Sara and I in the house. Everyone went home a month ago leaving the four of us to decorate for Christmas. Sara had finally came out of her room today after locking herself in for the past two months. She looked happy as she helped us decorate the house but she avoided eye contact with me. I took a five minute break after helping to put up the lights on the roof. I took out Sara’s necklace from under my shirt which had the ring attached. I looked at the ring and saw Sara wrapping the lights around the banister. She was smiling and…I was glad that she was happy again. I Put the necklace under my shirt and stood up.
“Need any help?” I asked as I walked over to her. She looked over at me for a second then looked back to the banister then continued to wrap the banister.
“Yeah, could you go get a tree and I’ll go get the ornaments, base and skirt. When you get back we can decorate it together.” I nodded. After getting my jacket back on I grabbed my keys and my phone then went out the door. I went to my car and I looked over my shoulder at Jason and Jerome climbing down the ladder.
“Hey guys!” I yelled and they looked at me.
“You guys wanna help me get a tree!?” I yelled and they jogged over to me. They got in the car and I got in then drove off. After looking for a couple hours we found a place that was selling christmas trees. After searching for another hour for a great tree we found one, paid for it and a few of the workers helped the three of us strap it to the top of the car. We got back to the house and we carried the tree inside, which took thirty minutes, and the guys helped Sara and I set it up. They went upstairs after they helped us and Sara and I began to decorate the tree.
“Sara I’m glad that you’re not keeping yourself in your room. To be honest I was worried.” I said as I climbed the ladder and began to wrap the tree with the tinsel.
“Well…Christmas is my favorite holiday. I’m also glad that we’re on our christmas break.” She said as she placed ornaments on the branches.
“So how have you been doing in school anyway?” I asked as I finished wrapping the tinsel around the tree and began to wrap the lights around after climbing the ladder again.
“Straight A’s. College has been easy this year which is a slight relief. You?”
“A’s and B’s. Anyway I’m a little glad to see your family again.”
“I am too. I haven’t seen them since last christmas.” She said as I began to help her with the ornaments.
“Also I can’t wait to meet everyone else’s family as well. So we are having a big christmas diner aren’t we?”
“Yep. I can help you cook it when the day comes.”
“If I can cook Thanksgiving diner for ten people, which was three times as much as I usually cook, by myself I think I can cook christmas diner for over thirty people by myself. Besides you almost always have something go wrong when you try to cook. But I’ll think about having you and Jerome help me.” She said as we finished decorating the tree. We both took a step back and looked over how we did. We actually did pretty well. I looked at Sara as she moved her hair out of her face. The feeling that was revived a few months ago began to burn brighter as I looked at her.
“Sara,” I said and she looked at me, “I want to give it another shot.” I said and she froze and went slightly pale.
“W…what?”
“I want to give it another shot.” I said as I took off my necklace and took the ring off quickly. She looked at the ring and I grabbed her hand gently. I then slipped the ring onto her ring finger and lifted her chin for her to look at me.
“So what do you say? Want to try again?” I said as I stared into her eyes.
“Well…does this answer your question?” She said and we kissed.
