Sara’s POV
The plane landed and after getting our bags, along with the carrier, we headed for the door. Mitch called a cab and as we walked through the airport people looked at us weird. I looked at Mitch to see that he didn’t put his sunglasses back on. I gabbed them and put them on his face. I looked back to see a few disapproving looks.
“Oh god…now people here will think that I’m abusive…why did I have to punch you in the face while I was asleep.” I said as I tried to cover my face. I felt so embarrassed.
“Just calm down. Act like it’s nothing. You’re acting a little weird.” He said after he got off the phone. We walked out and waited at the curb. I moved a sliver of hair of of my face and I looked over to see a group of guys staring at us. One of them looked familiar. The stare he was looking at me with felt familiar as well. I kept looking at them and I was pulled out of my trance when I heard Mitch.
“Sara the cab’s here.” I heard hime say. I looked at Mitch. I nodded and we put our bags in the back and put the carrier in-between us. I brought my knees up to my chest and hugged them. I tried to remember where I remembered that guy. I felt something nudge me and I looked over to see Mitch.
“What’s wrong?” He asked in a concerned tone. I looked down and rested my head on my knees.
“There was this group of guys staring at me while we were waiting for the cab…there was one who creeped me out the most. He look familiar somehow.” I said and I looked at Mitch again.
“I saw them when the cab arrived. One of them seemed familiar also. But I just brushed it off. Don’t worry, we’ll be home soon and then you can forget about it.” He said and I smiled.
“You’re right. We’ll get home, say hi to everyone and then I’ll forget all about it. I bet they’ll be excited.” I said and Mitch smiled back.
“Thing is. They have just been eating out since we’ve been gone. Jerome hasn’t been wanting to cook and they are sick of take-out.” Mitch said and I sighed.
“So they’re excited to taste my cooking again?”
“Pretty much.” Mitch said as we pulled up. I looked out the window to see everyone pressed up against the windows. I grabbed the carrier, sighed then got out. I walked up to the door and when I was about to place the carrier down the door opened and I was dragged in. I yelped and the next thing I know Jerome was hugging me.
“You’re home! Now I won’t be forced to cook tonight!” He said as he squeezed me.
“Can’t…breathe!!” I said as the air was squeezed out of me. A second later Mitch had dropped the suitcases and Jerome and Mitch were pulling at me. The others were watching in amusement.
“Someone get these two knuckle heads off of me or I won’t cook for a month!” I yelled. Their eyes went wide and they raced for me. I was being pulled from every direction and after a minute I was fed up. I screamed at the top of my lungs and everyone let go to cover their ears. I heard a glass break and I stopped. I took a deep breath and sighed in relief. Everyone opened their eyes and I knelt down, unlocked the carrier then went through the gap.
“I’ll start cooking when I wake up from my nap.” I said as I headed up the stairs.
“But…but…food…” I heard Adam say.
“No food till dinner and that kitchen better be clean or none of my cooking for you guys, except for Mitch, for a month.” I yelled from the top of the stairs. I then heard a stampede rush into the kitchen and the banging of pans. I looked down the stairs to see Mitch walking up with Jess struggling to get up the last step. She got up the stairs after a few minutes and the three of us went into our room. I jumped onto the bed and landed with my face on the pillows. I then spread out and took up the whole bed.
“Sara aren’t you forgetting that I need to sleep too?” I heard Mitch say and I groaned. I moved and Mitch laid down. Jess curled up in-between us.
After a few minutes I passed out.
