Calum steps outside and takes off his hoodie. He stretches out his wings and ties the hoodie around his waist. It's dark outside so no one can see him.

"Finally, I can stretch. This is gonna be a long year if I can only stretch ever so often..." He says to himself, spreading his wings out and taking flight. He flies about a mile north of the house, making sure not to get lost. After five minutes, he turns around and flies to the house, needing to get back so he can make dinner. Once he gets to the house, he sees Kaydi looking around outside.

"Crap. She can't see me like this..." he whispers to himself. He flies behind the house, landing behind some trees, making sure he's out of her view. He cramps his wings back under his hoodie and walks up to her.

"Hey Kaydi. Whatcha doin' our here?" Calum asks.

"Oh!" She jumps, not seeing him there before. She turns around and looks at him. "Well, it's been almost fifteen minutes and I wanted to see if you were ready. But I didn't see you out here before. Where were you?" She's even more curious about what he's hiding.

"I just went on a walk." He says, trying to sound as innocent as he can. She isn't convinced.

"Okay then.......well, do you want to go ahead and start cooking?" Kaydi asks.

"Sure." Calum says while walking inside. Kaydi catches up to him, both of them going inside and into the kitchen. Once they get into the kitchen, Calum asks Kaydi what she wants to make. She says that she wants to make a simple dinner. They start cooking, and Kaydi decides to ask him a simple question.

"Hey...why do you wear a hoodie all of the time? It's like, a hundred degrees outside right now."

"I like hoodies." Calum says, trying to answer with something that isn't going to make her even more suspicious about him.

"Ok, I do too, but I still don't wear them in the summer. I would die of a heat stroke."

"I'm always cold, so I just wear one all the time."

"Well, I don't believe you. You're a terrible liar you know."

    "Just....Drop it."

"Why?" She asks, wondering what's so important that he has to keep it a secret. "Are you planning to kill me or something?"

"What? No." He's getting angrier by the second.

    "I don't understand wh--"

"Just drop it!" He yells, making her flinch.

"F-fine." She looks down, old memories flooding back, struggling to hold back her tears.

"U-um wait I'm sorry I didn't mean..." Calum starts, feeling bad for yelling at her. She seems really upset about it. 'You idiot..' He scolds himself. He doesn't want to hurt her.

"It's fine. Lets just get dinner over with." She snaps. They silently cook dinner, Calum not knowing how to apologize. He shouldn't have yelled at her. He just didn't know how to get her to stop asking about what he's hiding. He doesn't want her to see that he isn't normal. After they finish dinner, the three of them eat, silent like earlier.

"Geez, Calum, what happened? The aura around this table is so awkward." Mary says, making Calum and Kaydi jump from the sudden noise.

"N-nothing.." Calum replies, looking down at his food.

"Okay..." Mary replies, taking another bite of food and giving Calum the 'We are going to talk about this later' look. Calum knows that face, and slightly nods his head. After the awkward dinner, Mary drags Calum into the living room while Kaydi cleans up dinner with one of their maids.

"Hey mom, I know you want to talk, but uh, shouldn't I help Kaydi out with cleaning up?" Calum asks, not wanting to make her clean everything herself.

"She'll be fine. Now, what's wrong?" Mary sternly asks, just wanting her baby to be happy.

"W-well umm Kaydi has been asking questions, making it very hard to hide my secret, and I kinda snapped at her.." He looks down, guilt evident in his features because he yelled at her.

"Well, you shouldn't have yelled. But, I do understand a little bit of your situation. It's probably really hard for you to lie all the time."

"Yeah. I'm going to apologize to her though."

"Okay." Mary smiles at her son, kissing him on the cheek before saying goodnight. She heads into her new room, getting ready for bed. Calum walks back into the kitchen, seeing Kaydi doing the dishes.

"Hey, um Kaydi, do you want me to do the rest of the dishes?" Calum nervously asks.

"No, I'm fine." She simply replies, kind of mad at him for yelling. And a little bit scared.

Kaydi, 14 years old, is happily strolling the streets of her city, not having a care in the world. She looks up to the sky and giggles, enjoying the beautiful view above her. The sun is setting, coloring the sky pink, orange, and purple. She then accidentally runs into something, or rather someone, and falls, hitting the ground.

"Ow.." she squeaks, not expecting the fall.

"What the hell! Watch where you're going you little brat!" A man yells, glaring down at the girl. She looks up, seeing a tall man, probably in his thirties, giving her a deadly glare.

"O-oh I'm so sorry!" She replies, slowly getting up and brushing off the dirt.

"Wait..you're that rich girl, Parks right?" Even more hatred pours out of his expression, scaring poor Kaydi. She takes a step back, smiling warmly at him and trying to act normal.

"Y-yes sir, I a—" He grabs her, dragging her to a secluded area. "L-let go!" She struggles against his grip, to no avail. He throws her down on the ground in an alley.

"YOU'RE A PIECE OF CRAP!! YOU AND YOUR FAMILY! You rich people are SO GREEDY! YOU GUYS ARE GONNA PAY!" He starts beating her and tears fall down her face as she screams in pain. He leaves her after a while, beaten and bruised, almost dead. The last thing she remembers before passing out is a young boy, looking around her age, running up to her and yelling for help. He somehow reaches her before he was even close, but it was probably just her imagination.

"Kaydi!" Calum yells, running up to her and grabbing her arm. "Kaydi you just cut yourself!" Kaydi jumps, coming back to reality, and feeling a stinging pain in her hand. She looks down to see blood gushing out of a large cut from the knife she was washing before she zoned out. She starts shaking, dropping the knife in the sink and looking up at Calum.

"Kaydi, what were you doing?" Calum worriedly asks/yells, quickly grabbing a towel and wrapping up her hand.

"I don't...I.." She feels tears falling down her face, her eyes wide in shock and fear. Then, she blacks out.
