"Cinthia, Cinthia are you alright",asked Adrian as he held me staring into my glassy eyes.
     "I .. don't w..want to be here", I croaked as I wrapped my hands around his neck seeking comfort as I let the tears flow.
   " Adrian is your father alright", asked a reporter shoving a microphone in front of Adrian who carried me in a bridal style into the hospital ignoring the reporters.
    "We are standing live at the Greens hospital where Mr James Anderson is currently undergoing a surgery, we have no idea what he is being treated of , We sincerely pray with the family that the gigantic business guru Mr James Anderson will survive this Surgery", said a man standing in front of the hospital.
     "Seeing how much Adrian cared for Cinthia, is it possible there's something going on between them", said another reporter who we were looking at on the TV screen inside the hospital.
     "Shut up,shut up ", said Claire to the TV as she threw herself unto a sofa .
  To be honest,she looked like a woman who went through labor,her hair was disheveled with her ruined mascara running on her face due to the epic argument she had with Adrian since she had told the reporters about James' state of health.
       Everyone was seated , pacing the corridor and no one could blink an eye as we all stood alert of everything going on , James was still in surgery, Kate has finally stopped crying, Adrianna was laying her head on Philip who arrived just a few minutes ago and my dad as well as Tyler was missing and Richard's hair was messier each minute he kept answering one phone call and another , nothing felt right as Adrian sat beside me trying to calm me down.
         "Kate", said a lady's voice which was familiar from behind and we all turned to see Joe.
     "I just found out on the news,oh my I'm so sorry", said Joe as she hugged Kate whose short forgotten tears roll down her face again.
     "Thanks for coming, Joe", said Kate crying.
   "It's alright, James will be alright", said Joe  as she gently patted her friend's back.
      After greeting everyone in the room, I finally noticed her husband Raymond who was busy talking to Richard .
     "The stock price of the company has drastically dropped", Richard announced inappropriately as we all looked up to him.
    "And what are we to do about that",asked Adrian leaning on the wall.
     "Dad's not going to love waking up to find out the company he has worked so hard to build collapsed in a night of his absence due to his state of health", said Richard as he gave his brother a glare before he walked away with Raymond and Philip who had offered to help.
   It seems the Anderson's competitors has chosen the right time to stike.
        The atmosphere was so suffocating that it didn't help my restless mind as I walked away to the railing few distance from where  the rest stayed as I looked through the glass wall revealed the best view of the city.
      "It's beautiful", said Joe from behind .
"Yeah", I replied as I wrapped my hands against my body as I suddenly felt cold.
    "I saw the news ,are you alright",asked Joe before placing her Jacket over my shoulder.
    "Thank you, I'm alright now",I said smiling at her.
     "You should take good care of yourself,the other day you fell into a pool and now this",Joe scolded me which I found amusing as I couldn't help the smile gathering between my lips.
      "Am I funny, Cinthia", said Joe trying to look a bit upset.
         "You are scolding me like my mom", I replied smiling.
    I could sense how her demeneur changed as she stared at the city.
        "I have a daughter she is two years younger than you , I never had the time to scold her when she wasn't taking care of herself properly , I watched her grow up and get hurt but I was never around to scold her until the day I saw her lifeless body being wheeled into the ICU", said Joe still looking at the scene.
      I never thought she would have such a sad story to tell,I mean she looked so happy whenever I see her.
     I guess you can never tell a person's life story unless the person living that life narrates it for you and that was exactly what Joe just did and I can't help but to force my opened mouth to close.
    "Is she alright", I asked praying in my heart for her to be.
         "Yes she is but she hates me and nothing I do is going to bring back my baby", said Joe silently.
  My heart ached for her as I wrapped my hands around her and I was surprised when she hugged me back. Nothing I felt before could be compared to how amazing, comforting and sweet this hug felt , I felt complete and happy.
     "She can't hate her mother for long,she will eventually see how you love her and come back to you , don't worry", I said smiling as I patted her back.
      "You are a sweet girl,your mom is very lucky to have you", said Joe smiling as she tucked my stubborn hair behind my ear.
    This felt natural leaving me grinning from ear to ear as we stood outside for awhile standing next to each other giving warmth.
       The loud noise got our attention as we both left the comfort to find out what was going on.
       "The surgery was a success", said the doctor standing in front of the family.
    "Mom, dad made it", said Adrianna breaking into smiles hugging her mom.
        "Yes he did", said Kate smiling.
  "Thank God", said my mom smiling as she hugged Kate smiling.
      "We will have to monitor him for awhile,  you won't be able to visit him now until tomorrow", said the doctor.
      We all nodded profusely as we wiped away the thick sweats on our foreheads we never knew we were having.
         As much as we all stink right now,it couldn't be compared to how relieved the family were as we watched the news, Richard had an interview to confirm that the rumors were indeed true but the way he placed the truth out to the public lightened the darkness the public were put in.
       Many questions were thrown at him which were left unanswered like would James continue to hold the CEO position despite his health , no one knows.
       Kate insisted to stay behind to look after James while we all were persuaded to go home at least to freshen up.
         Adrian's POV
  The relief I felt when I heard my dad's surgery was successful was a bundle of joy as I couldn't help but to hug Claire in pure happiness.
       "I'm sorry", Claire whimpered as she hugged me back.
      I knew how worried we all were due to all that has happened so I can't possibly ruin my relationship with Claire over that and besides I still loved her.
         "I know, forget everything that has happened between us over the couple of days , let's start afresh okay", I said smiling as I softly caressed her cheeks before giving her a chaste kiss.
       "Go get a room",my ugly sister Adrianna screamed in front of us  which left me smiling as I watched Claire blush profusely.
       "I'm glad we are alright", said Claire smiling.
        To be honest, seeing the state Cinthia was in earlier scared me leaving me frightened as I didn't even pay attention to the stupid rumor they would develop if I acted nice to Cinthia, one part of being the son of the richest man in the world I hate us the lack of privacy and we had to watch everything we do in public so as to protect our good reputation like my dad would always say
    Oh God I miss him
       And whoever was behind the accidents isn't going to go back down anymore, I need to do something.
       I can't stay here if I want to be safe, I have to leave
     
   "I tried to trace the call but it was fruitless, I'm afraid this person is very much experienced in what he is doing, who could he be", said Philip on the phone
          I couldn't think deep since I know even my enemies breath in the air around me, being the richest man in the world one is surely going to have lots of enemies so I have no idea who would want me dead .
        "You are not planning on staying ,are you", asked Philip.
    "I still have things to take care of", I replied honestly.
    As much as I want to leave,I still have some things I need to do.
      Give closures to some relationship and start new ones.
      "I will have more guards to your security detail", said Philip.
     "That should do for now and the company ?", I asked.
       "Many of the share holders are back and we have gotten new ones since they all know who you are now , an Anderson", said Philip.
        I hate to hear this,no one values my capability once they hear my name why are people so easily bought by wealth.
          "I guess that's all ,thanks",I said as I ruffled my hair then I heard my door open and I turned to see who it was.
    It was Claire.
         "Yeah, have a great night", Philip teased knowing Claire was in the room.
      I disconnected the call staring at the woman seated on my bed dressed in a blue robe.
        The loud gulping of saliva was done by me as I watched the robe fall to the ground and standing before me was Claire .
    Did I mention she was nude.
       "I figured out you will need to ease off some stress", said Claire smiling as she came closer to me.
      "Claire", I tried to catch my voice as I bent to pick up the robe and gently wrapped it around her.
         "You are rejecting me, wait is this because of that witch Cinthia,oh I knew it", said Claire ran her hands in her hair in an angry manner.
            "Are you listening to yourself right now,why is everything about Cinthia",I asked as I watched her breakdown before me.
        "It's because you have been treating her like she is the most precious thing in the world,I saw you carry her for goodness sake, are you sleeping with her behind my back ", said Claire
      "Claire will you stop this nonsense",I said angrily
      "I'm saying nonsense now,oh God,I should have known better,you really have fallen in love with her that's why I am no longer important to you , that's why you rejected me", said Claire
     "Just shut up Claire I don't love Cinthia nor have I slept with her",
  "If it's not her,who is it ,why ",asked Claire
         "No one Claire I just don't want to sleep with you when we are not yet married , I just want to treat you as a woman I love not a sex object", I explained as I held her.
       "Are you serious, you are not rejecting me for Cinthia", said Claire placing her head in my shoulder.
      "I'm very positive,I love you Claire and I am not rejecting you for no other reason but because I love you and I want our first time to be special",I said as I stroke her hair.
     "I'm so foolish right", Claire whispered as she cleaned her tears.
      "I don't think so, Claire I don't want you to doubt my love for you, I'm never leaving you for any woman so don't get too upset if you see me with Cinthia, she's nothing more than a friend ",I said calmly as I watched her pout her lips 
       I guess the tide is over......
But the storm is yet to come.
