Why would you agree? Heck, I would be turning it down if I got the offer. I'd rather be eating alone than eating with trained hunters when some dislikes me. I always thought Scott was an idiot, but I was wrong.
He's a moron.
I couldn't care less if you're trying to find the Golden Fleece. This shapeshifting dog boy may be able to regenerate injuries. Not sure how well he would recover with half of his head blown off by 500 mag revolver. Luckily no one was speaking, otherwise I'd fear for Scott's health.
The awkward silence was broken by Gerard. The master of strategy. He was the one who orchestrated this whole fiasco. Yet I still wondered. What was his plan?
Idol chatter about how Scott and Allison dated. Honestly, I was fairly bored. The only thing that amused was when Gerard compared them to Romeo and Juliet.
Firstly, I doubt Scott had a crush on a nun before Allison.
Secondly, it's only our family holding them apart. Melissa seems rather encouraging.
Thirdly, as Chris mentions, it ends in suicide of both parties. Let's hope not.Awkwardly, Chris invited Scott to give him a hand with bringing in the dessert Gerard had prepared. I worry for Scott as he may end up butchered going into the kitchen with my uncle. You'd be surprised how much we can do with a simple kitchen knife, just ask Victoria.
In the meantime, I stare at Gerard attempting to read his face. Nothing. He wouldn't give me anything. Until the sides of his mouth cracked up after hearing a thud against the wall.
Seems as if Gerard is really being inspired by Shakespeare tonight. First Romeo and Juliet and now Macbeth. To quote Lady Macbeth, "act like the innocent flower but be the serpent underneath". This was a facade. For Scott? Or, as I fear most, for the whole table?
After dinner, I cleared the mess as Allison was upstairs with Scott 'going over notes from class'.
When I heard Scott say that he needed to head off and pick his mother up from work, I grabbed my car keys and demanded I give him a ride. He protested at first, but I knew where he was going. Scott sure as hell wasn't going alone to deal with this thing.
We arrived at the pool promptly. Both Scott and I dashed as fast as we could. We saw both Stiles and Derek drowning.
Without a thought, we pulled out Stiles and Derek. Me pulling out Stiles and Scott pulling out Derek.
Only then was the presence of the reptilian assassin signalled by it's hiss. It's swinging tale like a metronome counting down a moment to strike.
Without thought, I grabbed a tomahawk, a small throwing axe. Light as sand, perfect for a distance weapon. Bolting it with such intense force and intention, it severed scales and ripped open flesh.
The monster screeched once more signalling it's ready to attack. It seemed initially hurt by my assault which is enough to slow a wolf, but soon seemed more angry than wounded. This creature can withstand more than a wolf. This is dangerous.
Both me and Scott readying up. Scott extending his claws to battle and I holding my set of stainless steel battle axe. However it lead to a confusing revelation.
At first I thought the monster was confused at what an axe was and it ran away.
Then I understood.
It was confused about its reflection.
It had no idea what it was.
