All I wanted to do was get dressed after gym class. However I noticed Danny couldn't seem to keep his eyes to himself.

"You know it's not polite to stare" I mock pulling a t-shirt over my head and adjusting my blonde hair back to it's perfect position.

Danny laughed at my poor attempt of cracking a joke. "Can't blame a guy for looking, where'd you get all those scars from? How many are there?" Danny seemed interested more than concerned.

"There's too many to count" I lift up my top briefly admiring the marks of my life, each one with its own unique story. It is rather artistic in that way. "Extreme sports is mainly the cause. I always seem to end up in harms way somehow". I replied.

I phrased it in a way in which I didn't feel like I was lying to Danny. Hunting werewolves really is an extreme sport and I always do seem to be in harms way.

Danny flashed me a light smile.

"Well Atticus. You're body is beautiful". Danny concluded before reaching into his bag and pulling out two tickets. "I owe you after our last clubbing experience, it's the sold out rave. I got us tickets, would you like to come with?"

I looked at tanned teenager in front of me, trying to think of something witty to say.

"I have a request. Meet it and I will go with you" I proposed.

"Shoot"

"This time you don't use me as a topless model".
Danny laughed my way before agreeing.

With that I left, telling the school I had an appointment at the hospital . Again the lie isn't a whole lie, just what they didn't know is that I wasn't meeting a doctor.

It was Chris, Allison and I alone in the hospital room. Chris facing the two teenagers.

"This one Shawn" he motioned towards a body bag. Classic hunter strategy. Emotionally attempting to weaken us for some gain.

"Killed by shapeshifter which hasn't been around for centuries" Chris spoke now as a hunter and not a father.
I was quick to intervene. Show I'm paying attention. "The thing you shot outside the club the other night".

"South America legend calls it the Kanima".

He gifted Allison with a pointed glare. He can tell she's emotionally weak. He's getting through.

"This one Jessica was smothered to death after giving birth. This means two killers, one human one not. I had one question after Gerard first told me about our family, I said why us. He quoted me Winston Churchill. "The price of greatness is responsiblily" personally I think its knowledge. What we know. The truth we know about the world that makes us responsible for anyone who can't defend themselves". He said in a grand speech.

"I get that this isn't a lecture, it's an interrogation" Allison stated offended at her fathers actions. His accusative tone and emotional manipulation must've really hurt the girl.

"That depends on what you know" Chris brings up the library. All the gory details he knows. About Jackson. About the cameras around the school. He tried getting it into my head but he knew he'd have a long wait.

Chris turns dramatically towards his only child. "What you know makes you responsible, makes you responsible for this!"

Chris reveals Jessica's dead body. Decaying, dead body.

It was horrifying, well at least that's what I got from Allison's reactions. I've seen figures like this since childhood if you want to call it a childhood.

Most kids watch power rangers as a child, I got to see dead murderous wolves. This was nothing to me.

Allison cracked. "What do you want me to tell you?" The jet black hair girl sobbed out. This interrogation far too much for her emotionally.

"Anything. Anything you know. Anything that can lead us to answering the one question that could answer anything. Who controls the Kanima?" Chris exploited his daughter.

"Alright the party is in a warehouse in the industrial sector. Allison has learned that Jackson Whittemore will be there seeking his next victim out of the crowd" Chris announced out to the room full of hunters. "As we still have little clue to how dangerous he is we still need to be extremely cautious"

Allison was next to me on the stairs. She looked nervous, I don't know if it was the Kanima or Matt. They're both gross to me.

"There will be no collateral damage tonight. Go ahead." Chris motions to Allison to leave.

Whilst the room felt a lot less welcoming without Allison there, I could tell that the better details are about to be spared.

"As willing as your young protégé maybe be, she still seems under the impression that we are planning a trap" 'grandpa' toyed with uncle Chris.

My uncle seemed seething at his remarks. "She doesn't need to know any more then that" he finished the last part through his teeth. Anger apparent in his demeanour, however I feel as if some of that is for Derek and not Gerard.

"For the rest of us then, let's be perfectly clear" Gerard addressed the whole room as if he was Winston Churchill himself. "You don't trap a creature this dangerous. You kill it!"

As I went over to the table to pick up my selections of weapons for the mission Chris dragged me aside.

"You have tickets to the event right?"

I was puzzled but intrigued to what he was going to suggest. "For myself yes, why?"

Some form of shame was apparent on Chris' face for asking this. "Go to the event, go dress in appropriate clothes. I need you to keep Allison safe, out of harms way".

I didn't particularly want to go to the event, however at least I won't have to stand Danny up.

"Yes sir"
