This was beginning to get old now. Being interrogated by too many people in the public sector: nurses, teachers and back to the police again. Understandably, I have been at the scene of two attacks with the sheriff's son nonetheless.

My speech from last time isn't going to work again, just going to draw suspicion. It was time to make up a new speech.

"Mr Argent. Care to explain to me what you was doing at this club? At the scene of other attack." Stiles' dad gave me the eyebrow.

Straighten my jacket and fixing my hair I replied cautiously. "I was at the club with a friend sir, Danny if you know of him. He's on the lacrosse team with your son."

Distraction, emotional ties and making the sheriff think. I realised this mustn't look great. The new kid who just came into town with a serial killer for a mother turning up at the scenes of two crimes. I hoped my techniques can throw him a bit off track.

"I'm well aware of who he is. How long have you and Danny been friends? You must really like him to come to this type of club with him."

This type of club. If only he knew the truth.

"Sir, Danny was recently broken up with. I was just trying to be a good friend, just like I was when I towed your son to the station the night we got attacked." I responded. Keep linking it back to Stiles. He'll get distracted.

He took a second to really look in my eyes, good luck finding anything in there.

"You're free to get checked by a paramedic and then go home." He said, nodding at me. Before I could walk away he added, "I just hope not to find you at anymore crime scenes Atticus."

"I could say the same for Stiles, sir. Thank you." I walked away to get checked over. No concussion, obviously. I threw myself to the ground. Shame Danny wasn't so lucky.

Walking away to the car where Gerard and my uncle waited for me, hear the latest update.

"They're trying to frame the story to make it look like drugs. Seven were paralysed as well as claiming to see a demonic monster on the dance floor." I state emotionlessly. "Most likely some form of hallucinogens."

"How who would believe something like that?" Gerard chimed in.

Without a seconds silence, Chris said "you know what I'm failing to believe? How you could just stand there whilst that thing circles you and Atticus. Want to explain that to me?"

"Intuition."

"Then you know what it is?"

Gerard shrugged off the statement, "I have a suspicion and if I'm right it plays by certain rules. Rules that don't bend easily" as he swallows god knows how many pills.

"Do we need to put a hole in Derek to figure this thing out?" Chris proposed more than questioned.

Gerard continued some speech about my uncles ties with Derek. How he hadn't seen him since my moms death. As well as noting the only other tie we have is Issac. Gerard brings up a valid point which put his plan into perspective.

"If this thing bothers Derek enough to bring him out of hiding we may have an opportunity here. Atticus." He turns to me with a smirk curling up to his powder white hair. "What did I teach you was the best way to eliminate a threat?"

I knew immediately.

"Get someone to do it for you."

The next day at school and Stiles and Jackson weren't present. Made me curious of their whereabouts. So I dropped Stiles a text, just to be sure he was safe. That nothing happened to him.

I was walking with Allison when she was called into the principles office. I warned her before hand. "Gerard will be looking for a weakness in you. Something he can exploit. Be careful."

It's totally true. Growing up watching Gerard's ways on the odd occasion. It was the first thing I noticed. He looks for a weak point of anything , apply a little pressure and it crumbles.

The school day was mundane as turn the page over and over again. Giving little care to the contents as I knew a fair amount of it anyway. After school I was going to go check on Danny. I did accept some of the blame of what happened to him last night. If I had took him out earlier, he wouldn't have been hurt.

After school I drove my truck over to the hospital to visit Danny, with some chocolates I picked up whilst I was filling up my tank.

I knocked before entering. When hearing come in I walked in normally and was greeted by Danny's cheesy grin.

"Hey warrior, how's your battle scars?" I said attempting to make a joke. "I was gonna bring you homework but I thought that would be pretty lame, so I got you chocolate instead."

"For someone so serious Atticus, you are have some witty humour." He chuckled reaching his arms out wanting the chocolate. "I've healed up just fine. I'll be out of here sometime today."

I took a seat by his bed. "Feeling a bit better about your ex?" I asked. Maybe it was too soon but I was curious.

His smile enhanced even more. "After last night he hasn't stopped texting me about who I was dancing with. You definitely know how to turn some heads Atticus"

"Maybe next time I'll actually dress up instead of being stripped down and being used as a topless model?" I raised an eyebrow with some sarcasm laced in my tone.

"Did it work though?" Danny said stuffing his face full of chocolate. "Thanks for that. Means a lot that you'd do that for me and that you've come to visit."

"What are friends for?" I replied.
