skylar's pov
the next day
mystic grill

"so are you guys excited for the founders party?" chloe asks.

"i guess," i mumble.

"i know this must be hard for you," trinity says. "your parents were on the founders council."

"making me a founder's family," i add.

"it's an important thing," chloe tells me.

i smile lightly. then i see joseph and his dad approaching us.

"mayor Lockwood," i greet him.

"skylar diamond. i hope you're attending the Founder's party tomorrow evening," he smiles. "joseph, do you have a date?"

"yeah i have someone in mind," he says quietly.

"oh skylar," mayor lockwood turns to me. "make sure you bring that compass that belonged to your father. i know he didnt get the pleasure of bringing it but maybe you can."

i nod. "i'll find you the compass mayor."

"thank you," he smiles. "let's go joseph." they both walk to another table.

"so," chloe says, "are you bringing alejandro to the party?"

"probably," i answer.

i approach alejandro's house and knock on his door.

"skylar," he opens the door shirtless.

i admire his body. "uhm hey alejandro." i walk in.

"what're you doing here? not that i'm complaining," ale chuckles.

"i was wondering if you'd like to accompany me to the Founders Party tomorrow night," i ask, nervously.

alejandro walks closer to me. "i'd love to."

i smile and kiss him on the lips.

mattia's pov

"how's this dress?" chloe asks.

i look at it. "too perky. try on a different one."

chloe rolls her eyes and walks to her closet.

"this book has it all wrong," i scoff, reading twilight. "we don't sparkle in the sun and edward is weird."

"so why don't vampires sparkle in the sun?" chloe asks, putting on a different dress.

"cuz the sun burns us," i respond.

"how come you don't?"

i hold up my hand and show my ring. "daylight ring, keeps me from going up into flames."

"and not all vampires have them?"

"nope," i say.

"how about this dress?"

i close the book and put it down. "looks lovely. do you have a date for the founders party?"

"yeah i was planning on asking this guy from my school."

"why not take me?" i suggest.

"cuz my mom would kill me if she saw me with you. you're older, a stranger, and my moms a cop."

"your mom is sheriff forbes?" i ask.

"yup."

i walk up to chloe and look into her eyes. "please take me to the founder's party," i compel her.

chloe blinks. "hey i have an idea, why don't you come to the founder's party with me?"

"wow great idea?" i smile sarcastically. "now you look stunning in that dress."

i throw her on the bed and starts kissing her neck.

"it's making me a little hungry," i whisper. "don't scream."

i bite into her and neck and suck her blood.

"are you gonna kill me?" chloe whispers.

i lift my face up and tuck her hair behind her ear. "no." she smiles. "not yet."

her smiles fades. "how come?"

"cuz mamas, i still need you."

skylars pov

"connor," i shout from downstairs. "joseph should be here to pick up the compass soon. make sure you bring it down."

"okay," i hear him answer.

"so you going to the founder's party right?" my aunt stella asks.

"yeah i asked alejandro today to go with me," i tell her.

ding dong

i exit the living room and walk to the door while connor runs downstairs with the box.

"compass is in here," connor says handing it to joseph.

i was a little nervous about them seeing each other ever since the fight at the football game.

"who's your date connor?" joseph asks. "cause i know it's not Ava."

connor tries charging at him.

"i think you should leave joseph," i suggest.

joseph smirks and walks away.
