i write in third person's pov a lot so you guys can read all of the characters' thoughts and emotions.

third person's pov

"connor," alaric greets him. "i saw the essay you submitted last night at 1am."

"and...?" connor was wondering about what grade he got so his aunt stella wouldn't kill him for getting another F.

"A+," he answers. "but uh i'm curious on the topic you chose. vampires huh? you don't actually... believe in that stuff do you? i mean i gave you an A because it was well written and creative, but that's all it is right? your imagination?"

connor laughs. "yea, i was just inspired by someone i met and an old Diamond journal."

that sparked alaric's interest because he knew that the vampire stuff wasn't bullshit and very much real. "oh no way a journal from the 1900's? you mind if i see it sometime?" the journal would help him learn more about vampire and their secrets.

"as a matter of fact i have it with me right now." connor grabs it from his backpack and hands it to him. "you into these things or something?"

"are you kidding me? a journal written by one of the founding families? that's like... porn to a history teacher."

connor chuckles. "right well have fun with that."

"i'll see you later tonight," alaric shouts.

"tonight?"

"i'm uh hanging out with stella later," he says quietly.

"should i start calling you uncle?" connor teases. "uncle ric."

"maybe just ric," alaric nods.

skylar's pov

"have you talked to your aunt stella about it yet?" alejandro asks me.

"no but i'll let her explain when i get home school cause she has a date with alaric tonight," i tell him.

"our history teacher alaric?" ale laughs. "that's... nice."

"well i like alaric, he's chill and fun," i say. "anyway, i gotta go home now."

"alright, swing by later if you need anything." he kisses me.

i get my car and drive home from school to face the truth. stella was at the kitchen waiting for me and i sit down next to her.

"i know you said you wanted to talk tonight but i have plans with-"

"alaric. yeah i know connor told me," i smile.

"i was there the day your parent's adopted you," she began. "your dad was working at the hospital that night when a woman gave birth to you. and then she said she didn't want it anymore and just... disappeared. apparently your dad knew the woman but he also knew how much he wanted you. your parents have been trying to hard to conceive a child for so long but kept failing, and it just felt like fate."

"so why does my birth certificate say 'Diamond'?" i ask.

"your dad was a doctor," stella reminds me. "it was easy to put it on the certificate so that no one would ask questions. at the end of the day, they were still your parents." stella takes my hand. "and i'm still your aunt."

i nod. "i know. do uhm, do you know anything about my birth mom?"

"just that her name is Isobel," she says.

isobel, what a pretty name.

later that night

trinity's pov

"oh my god," chloe says. "look who it is trinity."

i look over at the bartender and recognized him. he was a senior last year but then graduated and i guess now he's back.

"wow, ethan got hotter," i say without realizing.

"go talk to him," she urges.

"he doesn't even know who i am chlo," i sigh.

chloe downs more drinks and then pushes me out of seat. "go. talk. to. him."

"no-"

"hey trinity." i turn around and saw ethan talking to me. "i hope you still remember me from last year."

"i-- yeah i'm just surprised you remember me," i laugh. "so you work at the bar now huh?"

"i never forget a pretty face. and yeah i guess so," he smiles.

chloe's pov

i watch the two of them hit it off but i felt myself getting drunker by the minute.

"hey chloe," blake says taking a seat. "drinking by yourself?"

"the bartender was very nice," i slur my words.

"the bartender isn't suppose to be giving underage girls alcohol," he laughs.

"what're you doing here this late?" i ask.

"i just finished my shift-- i work here now."

"that's good for you," i reply, not seeing straight.

"why don't i take you home chloe?" blake picks me up but i immediately fall over. "woah, guess i'm carrying you out of here."

he carried me bridal style and takes me to his car. my eyes were closed the entire ride home and i felt him parking in my driveway.  blake carries me into my house and sets me on my bed, putting the blanket on top of me.

"will you stay with me?" i mumble.

"i dont know chlo."

"please?"

"okay." he smiles. he picks the blanket up and crawls under to snuggle with me. "goodnight chloe."

"goodnight blake."
