"Shall we have vanilla or chocolate for the wedding cake?"
"I don't care, Baby" I rolled my eyes, glancing to Nick who had his eyes on the tv as he flicked through the channels.
"Vanilla or chocolate?" Nick pulled his eyes from the tv and turned to me, obviously having heard the annoyance in my voice.
"Why don't we have both? A layer of vanilla and a layer of chocolate" I rolled my eyes and stared down at my phone.
"Yeah, and why don't we just have 10 layers of cake and have each of them a different flavour?" I turned to Nick, completely unamused as he chuckled. "You think this is funny? You haven't once suggested anything for this wedding and even when you do, you just agree with everything that I say. Do you even want to marry me?" Nick leant to lower the tv remote down onto the coffee table before he turned to me.
"I want to marry you. I wouldn't have asked you if I didn't. I just don't..." my eyebrows raised in question as he stopped.
"You just don't what?"
"I just want you to be happy. I want our wedding day to be perfect for you. I want you to have everything you want, everything you dreamt about. As long as I get to say I do and see you in a gorgeous white dress. I don't really care about anything else."
"Well, can you at least start caring because I'd like for you to be involved in our wedding."
"Go for vanilla. More people like vanilla" I nodded, a smile on my face as I glanced down at my phone. "And I do care but the thing I care about the most is that I get to call you my wife at the end of it all" I turned to him as he moved closer to me, his hand running along my thigh.
"I love you, my soon to be husband" I ran my hand along his cheek as he pressed his forehead against mine.
"I love you too."
