You breathed heavily, running as fast as you could into your house. You could hear screams, shouts, howls around you. You were terrified, but you knew that if you stopped, they would catch you. Once you've reached your house, you locked the door behind you immediately. Panting, you hid under the bed and waited for something, someone to save you. Your chest kept heaving up and down, your whole body trembling.

"Mom, dad, brother..." you called out in a whimper. Your voice broke in the end. There was a little window where you could see the outside. There were wolves running around, chasing your pack. The only pack of werecats left. There was blood everywhere, screams and growls were heard. Werewolves were attacking your friends, family, everyone you knew. You were only 10 years old when you barely saw alpha Xavier pin your father to the ground. He jumped on him and painfully pressed him down. He looked like he despised him, as if werewolves were so superior against werecats. You held your breath, your gaze solely focused on the two of them as all of the other voices became muffled. You were watching, waiting for his next move with horror. He had his paws on your father's neck so that he couldn't move. Your dad was bruised badly, blood coming from his eye, neck and stomach, his body barely able to handle everything. The alpha howled once more and everyone turned to look at him. He had red, glowing eyes and if looks could kill, he'd be able to do that. In one swift move his teeth were on your father's neck. You flinched at the sight of his body falling limp.

"No!" you cried out loudly. You covered your mouth with your hands, not forgetting what will happen if somebody finds you. However, you got up and looked straight through the window, falling down slowly against the wall as reality kicked in. You couldn't believe this. You didn't know what to do. 'This is the end ' you thought. Your father was gone, your mother and brother nowhere to be seen, the rest of the pack, well, they were slowly disappearing too. They've won, finally. The war is over, your destiny was to die just like the rest of your kind. Although your mother always said you were strong, you couldn't bear the tears falling down, more and more like there was no tomorrow and....maybe there really wasn't. Out of nowhere, the door cracked open, a woman came in slowly, cautiously. She didn't see you at first, but you thought why hide? What's the point? They would find you anyway. You took notice of what she was wearing. She wore a long black dress and a jacket on top, she had a mask unlike others and she wasn't shifted. She also carried a bag with her which was weird for a soldier, almost like she didn't want to be seen by them as much as you.
She noticed you crying at last.

"Shhh, I'm not here to hurt you I promise. I know it's hard to believe it now, but will you come with me? It's the only way if you want to live. I promise you I won't hurt you" she said softly not getting closer. She just closed the door behind slowly, not to startle you with her gaze pinpointed to your eyes. They weren't dominant, aggressive or demanding, they looked worried and concerned.
Your mom always said 'Never trust the words honey, trust the actions and eyes of a person'. You looked at her, so you got up and stopped with the tears. You took careful steps over to her, never looking away from her eyes.

"Where are we going? " you asked almost inaudible, but she heard you.

"We're going to a new home darling...do you trust me? " she reached out her hand and you didn't hesitate to take it, offering a small, yet reassuring smile.

"Jump" she said, pointing to her back. You did as told and she shifted into a werewolf in a matter of seconds. You've never witnessed anything like it in person, it looked magnificent, just the same terrifying. You sat on her back as she started running as fast as she could. Away from the fire and blood you once called home.
