Part 13 "Letter"

Zaine is alive, the words rang through your head, everyone was stunned. Let's address something, she could be messing with you, but how does she know, why did she come here to tell you and where did she come from? These are vital questions, who even is she, why is she so secretive about it too? No need to hide her face, but she still did. Calum couldn't look at the girl, you could see the frown on his face, deciding what to believe from this stranger. Luke didn't really know what to say or how to react, guess he was leaving it up to Cal. Michael and you were looking at eachother, not really knowing what to say either. Mali shook her head, a sad smile appeared on her face, she got mad in a second and shouted.

"Why the hell should we believe you?!" she spats at the girl, she was more sad than angry, but you've never seen Mali react that way. Mali was supposed to be the sensible, call and composed one.

"You know...you know what, how dare you come here and tell us bullshit like that? You can't mess with stuff like that!" she tries to lunge at the girl, but Luke catches her, his hands wrapped around her body tightly. You can see Calum eye Mali, she looks defeated so she turns to Luke, hiding her face from the girl, poor Mali. Although that was a bit uneccecary, but you have no right to speak, you have never met Zaine. You'll never know how much he meant to them too.

"My sister's right, why should we believe you? You don't have any proof" Calum tells her, not growling, but hurt and sadness evident in his eyes. It was a touchy subject, you know firsthand.

"You're right, I came here on your territory just to tell you this. That's not fair, but I had to" she explains to you, stopping to look at each one of you, she shows you her eyes, they were blue with hints of green, showing confidence. Her features very soft, undemanding, but looks can trick.

"But you see...Calum you have the proof" her gaze stops at him and he scoffs.

"How do I have the proof? What do you mean, this is getting irritating now" his jaw clenches, but he doesn't say anything else.  Your eyes widen, you know the proof, but she says it before you.

"The letter Calum, the one that Zaine gave you, have you read it?" she asks slowly. All of you turn to him, he looks ashamed of himself, if after all this time his stubbornness kept him from finding out that Zaine is alive, he wouldn't be able to handle it. Oh no, this is just horrible.

"It's fine Calum, we know why you haven't read it yet" Luke reassures him, Mali and you nod at him and Michael pats his back.

"Can you please read it now or else we'll be here all day?" she asks him softly and he nods sadly, you didn't except him to change his mind that fast.

"Okay let's go and get it" he says, not very confidently, but it's time he knows. It was time to find out what really happened to Zaine.

You came to the house and everybody except you and Calum sit down at the table that was outside his house. You knew he was hesitant about all of this, but the girl can't be joking with you, she knows about Zaine, she knows about the letter, it's now or never really.

"If you want to read it alone it's fine, we'll understand" you whisper to him, offering a small smile discreetly.

"No, I've kept it for so long, acting like it was only me who was affected by his death. It's time to read it I just needed something like this to push me for it" he smiles and goes in the house. You sigh as you watch his figure disappear, why is all of this happening at once?
