Arcee scuffed the dusty earth as Jack approached, not looking up even as he slipped into a sitting position beside her. It was quiet for a little, broken only by a warm gust of air.
"You know," Jack started, " To be fair, you are a pretty good guardian."
There was a light huff of laughter from the femme, highlighted by a subtle bounce of her shoulders. Her troubled expression shifted to a smirk.
"I wanted to hate your guts as soon as I was assigned to protect you," she admitted lightly, shifting to rest her guarded chin on the arches that shielded her leg joints. "But you're not a bad kid."
