Kongpob POV
"Trouble doesn't seem to go away wherever we go. Does it?" P'Bright said.
P'Arthit slapped his head, P'Bright started scratching his head like a child. "Would you shut up and concentrate on our plan?"
"Listen, we don't know where is this Dark Hunter's Coven we're talking about. But inquiring is our hope. Maybe we could ask someone around here." P'Third said.
"I can help." A familiar voice interrupted our conversation, and a hooded man was standing behind us.
We quickly backed away from each other. P'Arthit's snapped his finger and a red-violet celestial light appear. Third summoned a sword. May's hand sparked in dark arts magic, black swirling around her arm. I unsheathed a dagger from my belt, and...AND P'Bright was just crossing his arms with a bored look.
"Seriously?" He said in a lazy voice.
"You shall not be afraid." The hooded figure assured as he drew back his hood. I looked upon at his face-My best friend's face. There's a long thick scar across his cheek.
"M?!" P'Arthit said.
I shivered.
"What happened to your face?" I asked, approaching him.
He stepped back and trailed off his eyes on the floor. "I'm not the guy you know."
"And who the hell are you, huh? Stop with all of these nonsense. We were worried, now you come here and we can all rest and have practice tomorrow—" P'Bright asked in a very rude tone.
P'Arthit spanked his head again. P'Bright sulked at the pillar with his head down against the cold stone.
"I'm Kao Krato." The guy started. "I'm M's twin brother."
"No way. M has a twin brother?" said May, she was beside me, studying Kao. All our eyes went to her, but she shook her head in frustration.
Kao nodded. "The Dark Hunters has its priorities. Protecting the town is their top priority for the past two months. I know how to get inside their Base. It's located at the Southwest part of Graiville."
"Now I know what's the reason why Pete is angry with M. He mistook him as this guy." P'Bright pointed out to Kao. "Tell me, what sins you have to confess to little grumpy Pete?"
"A lot actually." said Kao, grinning.
P'Arthit and I looked at each other. This was definitely not M.
"We have to get ready. " Kao said, his long scar was very visible and it bothered me. My friends looked uncertainly at each other. Kao met May's gaze. "You have an enchantress in your Coven. That's interesting."
"Hey, dipshit! Who said, you're gonna take charge? Stop being all Captain America on us. You're not a Gear Heart mentor" P'Bright took two steps to Kao.
"My brother's life is in danger." Kao grumbled.
"We need to save him." said P'Third.
P'Bright raised his brows in a mock response. "Avengers Assemble? Yehey."
"He's seeking our help." I said. "We must work together to save M. And the way Pete said in Sweet Devils that we must talk to him...seems serious."
"Okaay" said P'Bright to Kao. "If you're here, it had to be a better reason, or I will not kill you."
Arthit POV
"And you're totally sure this isn't an imposter M?" I asked, for what seems to Kongpob a hundred times. We were all inside the underground training facility of the Club Paradise.
"Do you really think that he's lying?" Kong looked up at May standing over them, her hand gathered small particles turning them to dark winds.
"No. I sensed that he's not M, I knew M because of his...smell" May answered in a slow pace.
"It doesn't make any sense." I said
"Of course, it does." Kong says without missing a beat. "I have a bad feeling P',"
"Bad feeling?" I said, partly confused.
"The Corp is waiting for an apocalypse and we're not—"
"Kong, your brother will never find a way to—"
"He will." He replied as if fear was clawing at his heart. "Demons will invade earth. If this is going to be P'John's situation all over again." Suddenly, he threw a punch to the wall. The vibration went through my feet. I stepped back in surprise. A small crack has been created on the wall.
May and I exchanged a look. She slowly sauntered to the rest of the team at the corner of the training room, giving us privacy.
"Kong, come here." I said, squeezing his shoulder.
He took sharp intakes of breath. "Nothing has been the same since Ravika Lighthouse. I lied to you, I'm not okay, P'. Demons, gods, shadow curses, hell dimensions, and I'm still just a wizard."
"You're a demon slayer, Kong." I muttered
"I know you've been my boyfriend. But, I can't sleep. You go being a mentor, I go hunting demons. Threat is impending in our world." He trembled through his words. "And I have to protect the one thing I can't live without. That's you. These are just-"
"-your abilities."
"They're part of me. I can't take that away." He said softly, surprising himself. Kong tucked his head to my chest and shut his eyes. His fingers stroking around my arms.
"I can't lose you, P'." He mumbled.
I watched him, restless, and I remembered the first time I've seen him and how I thought that his stubborn attitude was stupid as well as I find it amusing. M knew, from growing up with him and loving him as his brother, that underneath his armor of bravery and pretending to be happy, lies the shards of traumatic memory still tearing him apart, and I'm willing to pick it up the pieces and fix him.
Staying still, I whispered. "Me too."
M POV
I opened my eyes. The room was clearly not familiar to me. My mind spun like a carousel, quite blurring my vision.
Magical cuffs that prevented me on using my magic were tied at the back of my wrist. I can hear the soft electrical buzz of light above me.
"Finally." A look of amusement passed over P'Pete's face as my vision clear like the fog has been lifted. "You're awake, Ghost."
"What are you talking about?" I asked. Who's Ghost?
"Are you that dumb? You are the King's champion. Why are you with the Gear Hearts?!" He punched me to my face. A pain pulsing on my cheek. I taste metallic blood on my tongue.
"I'm a student, you nosy jerk!" I shouted back.
P'Pete puts his hand to his face and began to chuckle. "Idiot. What a fucking idiot! Stop fooling around, Ghost."
"Who the hell is Ghost? What are you hassling me for?" I said.
"See, there you go. You're always manipulating people to get what you want!" P'Pete said exasperatedly. "What do you want? Cash? Wanna team up for chaos? Sex?"
"I'M STRAIGHT." I retorted. "Just tell me, who is this Ghost? And what do you want with the Gear Hearts?"
There was a heavy silence that blankets the room. That maniac attitude strangely disappeared. "The town has been plaguing with strange blight for the past two weeks." Pete pursed his lips. "The Shadow Master isn't pleased with what is happening and we need to alert the Gear Hearts. Since they're the heroes of Ravika. And, The ghost I'm talking about...that's you. It's your evil dipshit king's fault why the town is on the brink of destruction"
