Pete POV

We were fighting Ash toe to toe, my own metal fist and Kong's fire magic darting out arrows.

Eventually, He kicked us to the edge of the Hellmouth, his foot struck my throat. I gagged from the clogging air.

Ash knocked us out and got the Hellbreaker sword. "The time has come...to challenge the new Hellgod." He laughed maniacally.

"No..." Kong dragged himself, grabbing Ash's leg. Ash kicked him away as he rolled on the side.

Somewhere in the smoke, someone was screaming. Momentarily, Ash got distracted by the scream. We were all surprised as Kao went past the ash-gray smoke with raw anger tearing on his expression. He stabbed Ash in the chest, shoving the tip of a black sword. Ash lowered his hand, a look of disbelief washed over his face.

"Kao, W-What are you planning?!" Ash said with asperity, shooting a blunt look at Kao.

Kao looked over the fallen wizards. "You told me once that I will be a true champion if I will step on other people, to kill, to make their lives miserable."

"Well, in order to achieve your ends. Then you'll have to abandon your emotions." Ash replied.

"I'm not abandoning my emotions anymore." Kao grumbled, the sword glimmered in purple. "I realize that letting myself doing your dirty works strikes fear in the hearts of everyone. So you will be superior. I should've come with M in Ravika. I am not your champion."His poison magic weaved on his hand like ribbons, and the tip tossed the Hellbreaker sword, Kong rose and it met on his palm."I'm the one who will slay you."

Kao POV

The seal of Hellmouth could be very lethal. So, If I'm going to push him off the edge, he would fall.
Ash once told me that if someone touched or fall into the seal, they will reduced to ashes. Unlike my friends now, I've seen Ash's darkest and deepest parts. I know where to hit him, where he would bleed.

"Demons! Attack!" Ash commanded. Few heads of the Ashram demons turned to us. Pete twisted his wrist, both hands darting out. The plates of his armored skin flew from both sides, quick as a bullet. Kong began killing the Ashram demons. Arthit regrouped with them. His celestial orb rammed against the demon.

I backed away as far as I can. Ink magic generated into a black rod from his palms, shifting them into double-edged sword.

He looked hard at me. This could get ugly. "I've got no time to waste on you, Kao."

"So do I."

"If you're willing to betray me completely. Your effort would all be nothing." When he saw the affirmation on my face, he added in a stressful sigh. "Guess, I'll have to play."

He delightfully disappeared in the smoke. I had a plan in my own. I vanished in posthaste. When he got out of the smoke, I wasn't there anymore. I shot upward and our swords clashed into sparks.

Ringing blades hitting at each other, two swords against one. This was what exactly Father and I do when we groomed me to be the King's Champion. The same movements, the ones I actually memorized. At this rate, I could beat him.

The tip of my sword almost reach his head when he went out of my sight. Ash spun, throwing out his leg in a smooth kick. It connected me, sending me sprawling on the grass.

"Kong, need a little help!" I said.

Damn it, I have to improvise my moves. Ash knows it too well.

Kong looked at me and nodded. He helped me out of my feet. The wind hurled ferociously, biting against my skin. I can feel that my poison mark crawled over under my eyes. The power that I've been hiding for many years. Poison users were rare. Wizards had little knowledge about them. So, this was like my ultimate mode.
