What's Your Problem?

"Yes?" I asked looking up in front of me to see Mr. Finn standing by the board. I glanced around the room and saw that it was empty. "Please come to the front of the class, we need to speak." Oh god...

I grabbed all my things and walked to the front of the class. "Yes Mr. Finn?" "Miss y/l/n," he started and I mentally groaned, "It has come to my attention that you were not participating in today's lesson whatsoever. I could've dismissed this and let you figure out the assignment yourself, but you're one of my best students so I'm going to help you."I stared up at him in disbelief. Any other teacher would've let me take the failing grade.

"Oh, thank you! What was the assignment?" I asked, now fidgeting with my fingers, again.

"It's a group project. Your friends Kai and Damiar offered to take you into their group if you don't find a partner by friday-"

"um, actually, Damiar isn't my friend, I actually have problems wi-"

"well hopefully you resolve those problems or else you'll be stuck working with me." He said sternly but softened his face into a kind smile when he saw the worried look on my face.

He sighed and went on,"meet me here tomorrow morning before 1st period to discuss the assignment. Catch up with your partners when you can in the meantime. Have a good day yn, you are dismissed."

"Thank you," I said before walking out of the class room and into the bustling hall ways.

"Yn, hey yn!" I heard Kai's voice call to me. I stopped and turned around to see Kai running towards me with his backpack hanging from one of his arms and swinging everywhere.

He finally made it to me, halting to a stop and almost falling on top of me. Luckily, I caught him. He hugged me tightly.

"Jeez, you act like you haven't seen me all day. It's been like five minutes," I said as I hugged him back.

He pulled away from me. "Well it feels like it's been forever. All of our classes together you barely paid attention to me."

"Ohh, I'm sorry. I've had a lot on my mind."

"It's okay. Wanna hang out later?" i thought about it for a second then smiled.

"Actually yeah! Let me go down to the library real quick and we can figure something out afterwords."

"Sounds good to me" he said before walking off. I walked the opposite direction and went to the library.

When I got to the library I saw Damiar there, why was he here? I just ignored him and walked over to Karecca.

"Do you need any help today?" I asked her in my normal soft tone.

"No not today, thank you sweetie." She told me and smiled. "Oh, okay." I sighed and left the library.

My phone began to vibrate in my pocket, I quickly pulled it out and answered. It was Kai of course. "Hi Kai." I greeted quietly, glancing around to see if anyone was near me.

"Hey do you want to go get ice cream at Baskin Robins?" He asked me.

"Yeah sure, can you come pick me up from school?"

"Oh, Damiar was going to give you a ride. Remember? I told you about this in class." Kai told me and a started to freak out.

"No, what are you talking about. Why is he-"

"Gotta go sorryyy" He told me dragging out the y then hung up on me.

I looked back at the library to see Damiar walking towards me, his black hair swaying just above his ears. "Hey Y/N, you were coming with me and Kai to get ice cream right?" He asked me as he headed towards me.

"Uh, y- yeah." I stuttered and gave a weak smile.

We walked to his car and he opened the passenger door for me. I got inside although I was scared to. What if he was trying to kidnap me or something? What if-

He got in the car and started it up. "Why are you so quiet?" He asked, already annoyed at my silence. I looked over at him but didnt say anything and just shrugged.

If he hadn't been such an asshole to me in the past I might have talked to him but he's bullied me ever since middle school.

The car ride was quiet and uncomfortable. The tension in the air put me very on edge, he was still mad at me but I didn't know why. What had I done to him now?

The air was still and humid, I was sweating but I sat there and didn't say anything.

We finally arrived after what felt like five hours but had actually been ten minutes. He parked and I quickly got out of the car, struggling to unlock the dolr at first.

A huge gust of cold air hit me as I stepped out of the car, it felt good after being trapped in that humid car for what felt like forever.

"Over here!" I heard Kai call to us from the entrance of the building. I sighed relieved and quickly walked over to him before Damiar got there.

"Why is he here?"

"Relax y/n , we were talking earlier and he's actually a nice guy."

"You know he's bullied me for forever Kai he-"

"Hi Damiar!" Kai greeted happily once Damiar had gotten closer to us.

I sighed frustrated and looked up at Damiar, it was obvious he was still mad. "Shall we go in?" He asked in a dumb voice, trying to be funny. He opened the door and Kai laughed a little at his jokes but I was just really tense.

Kai ordered what he wanted, "Do you want anything?" He asked me and I shook my head. "You sure?" He asked, I nodded my head. Kai shrugged then Damiar got the ice cream he wanted.

"Whats wrong Y/N?" Kai asked confused. "Don't play dumb." I muttered then went off to find a table for us to sit at.

I found a booth up against the window and sat down there. I sat with my back against the window and my legs bent in front of me so that I took up half the seat.

A few minutes later Kai and Damiar came back with their ice cream, to my surprise Damiar sat beside me and Kai sat across from us.

He was confusing me so much, "What's your problem?" I asked, not realizing I'd said that out loud until I made eye contact with a pissed off Damiar.
