We Could Stay With You

Me and Maxella split up, she went home and I went to the library.

"Just tell me if he gives you anymore trouble okay?" She told me and I nodded although I wasn't going to tell her anything else about this.

I assumed Karecca would be in the library but when I got there the library was closed. I sighed and called Kai from my phone.

"Hey, do you wanna hang out today?" I asked him trying to sound a little happy.

"Sorry I uh- already have plans today."

"Oh- okay." I said a little confused.

"Who's that?" I heard Damiar ask him and I hung up.

I stormed out of the school, clenching my fists with tears threatening to spill out of my eyes. Kai ditched me to hang out with Damiar. Why?

I got a few calls from Kai as I walked home but I didnt answer them. I think it had gotten colder than this morning but I was too mad to even realize how cold I was.

I got home to see my dad wasn't there which was weird but I didn't think too much about it He was probably out getting drunk somewhere already.

I threw myself on my bed and just cried for a while. Damiar was already out to get me and now things were just even worse.

I laid in my bed for the rest of the day and just took time to process and think about everything. I fell asleep early and I forgot to eat dinner.

When I woke up it was oddly quiet, my dad must have still been asleep so it was probably early. I contemplated asking him to stay home or not but I decided not to.

I got ready for school and still didn't have my hoodie. I couldn't walk out there without a jacket again, it was getting colder everyday.

I quietly walked out from my room and towards my dads room. He had probably put my hoodie in there. I opened the door but he wasn't in there, was he in the living room?

My hoodie wasn't in there either so I went to check the living room but neither my dad nor the hoodie were in there.

I searched the whole house and found neither. Did my dad never come back last night? The car was here but he wasn't.

I sighed and pulled out my phone, I'd just ask Kai to pick me up. I took a glance at the time, it was already 10!?

I groaned frustrated and rested my head in my hands for a minute. What was going on? It couldn't be that big of a deal, it's probably nothing at all.

I decided to just go back to sleep, I was still really tired anyway.

I woke up to the doorbell ringing. I sat up and looked at my alarm clock, it was already 3 o'clock. I missed the entire day of school. I assumed my dad still wasn't here because if he was he would have woken me up and made me go to school.

I got up and looked out of the window and saw Kai's car...? Why though..?

I then checked my phone to see dozens of missed calls from him. I turned away and quickly brushed out my hair before running down stairs to the door.

I took a deep breath before opening the door and being faced with my worst nightmare.

"Hey yn. I was worried about you. You haven't answered any of my calls and didn't even come to school today."

I gulped and looked next to him at Damiar who was just looking at me with an emotionless glare.

"Um...oh, I'm okay. I was just feeling...um, s-sick. You know?" "Yeah I guess. Can we come in?" I glanced between him and Damiar before slowly nodding my head and moving out of the door way.

I pointed to the couch and they sat down and I sat on the opposite of Kai so I wasn't by Damiar.

"Yeah, actually, I just thought it'd be too cold to walk to school without my hoodie so I just said fuck it." He nodded with a little laugh. "Wait- what happened to your hoodie? You had it the other day."

"Oh," I thought for a moment before deciding to tell him about my dad. How he took my hoodie from me and disappeared last night with it.

"Damn I'm so sorry. He's such a dick, at least he might be gone for a while? I-if you don't wanna be alone, we could stay with you"

My eyes widened. I would be fine with just Kai staying here but, Damiar? Hell no. He could literally kill me in my sleep if he wanted to.

"B-both of you?" "C'mon, yn. Don't start this again. Damiar is a great guy! Listen, if he can't stay, I'm not staying."

I bit my tongue so I wouldn't groan. I sighed and just said yes and Kai suddenly got really happy.

"Lets watch a movie!" Kai suggested and grabbed the remote. I nodded in agreement and so did Damiar. I dont think he'd said anything this whole time.

Kai glanced at the both of us then stood up. "Y/n come sit right here, I don't want to be in the middle." He complained.

"I don't want to either?" I argued and glanced at Damiar, he didn't seem to care all that much.

"Too bad." Kai said and drug me over to where he was sitting so that he could on the side. I knew Kai had only done that to force me to sit next to Damiar.

Kai sat down and scooted over so that I was pushed against Damiar. It suddenly felt really hot in the room and I was super uncomfortable.

"What do you guys wanna watch?" Kai asked and looked back and forth between us.

"It doesn't matter to me." Damiar replied.

"Uh y- yeah I don't care." I told him with a small smile.

"Let's watchhhh.." Kai began as he opened up Netflix. "IT?" He suggested.

"I dont really-"

"Yeah I love horror movies!" Damiar said excitedly, purposefully cutting me off.

I sighed as Kai happily put the movie on.
