Once Upon A Benkro

You're dead.

"Y/n..Y/n!" I heard and slowly woke up. "Huh.." I grumbled and opened my eyes. I saw my friend Maxella standing beside me. "Wh-what?" I asked and sat up, realizing I was still in the library. 

"What t-time is it?" I asked beginning to panic. "It's last period. What's wrong? Why have you been in here all day?" She asked me and I sighed. I told her everything that'd happened since yesterday and explained to her Damiar was always picking on me.

I was really tired at the time and never thought that maybe telling her wasn't such a good idea. Maxella never really handled things like that calmly. 

"What! Are you serious!? You just let him walk all over you like that and you haven't even told anyone?!" He asked me clearly angry. 

"I-It's not that big of a deal. I shouldn't have told y-you anyway."  

"You should've told me sooner. Is he the one who did that to your eye?" She asked me then the bell rang to dismiss school. 

"Wh-whats wrong with my eye?" I asked her confused then pulled out my phone. I looked at my face through the camera, I had a black eye. 

"Oh, no that was me. Y-you know how clumsy I am." I lied to her, that was probably from my dad last night. 

"Either way I'm gonna go find that asshole and teach him a lesson. I knew no one was that perfect," She began rambling as we packed up our things. "I mean bullying the quiet girl, do you know what that'll do to his reputation-"

"Maxella stop. You'll just make things worse..  and people don't care anyway. They've all probably seen him do it."

"That doesn't make it right." She said then began walking away. 

"Wait- where are you going?" I asked a little louder but she kept walking. 

I got my things together and went after her. I found her heading towards the football field, I think Damiar had practice there today. 

She went outside then I ran after her, "Stop!" I yelled although I wasn't very loud and she barely heard me. 

Maxella spotted Damiar and ran towards him. I lunged forward attempting to grab her arm but ultimately failing. I almost fell but I caught myself.

I groaned in frustration, she was only going to make things worse. 

By the time I'd gotten to the gate she was already yelling at Damiar. I saw he had his jaw clenched along with his fists, and an angry and impatient look on his face.

Maxella obviously didn't care, as she kept on yelling at him. I stood there defeated, just watching with pure fear on my face. What if he hit her? What if he came after me tomorrow or even today?

Just then I saw him look at me and smirk. Oh shit-  I thought and before I could even move-

"Look. Yn!" He yelled and Maxella quickly averted her attention at me then back at Damiar. She started yelling at him again and he just rolled his eyes.

I quickly turned around and started walking back towards the school when I saw him lightly push Maxella out of the way and start walking to me. I heard Maxella's yelling get louder trying to get him to stop and listen to her.

I kept walking at a fast pace and finally got into the school. I turned a corner and quickly slipped into a nearby supplies closet. I heard the main entrance doors open and slam shut.

I was shaking a little bit because I was afraid of him finding me but I tried my best to stay still as his steps got closer.

I heard more footsteps but then they stopped. I sighed and was about to open the door when it was yanked open and I was met with a very angry Damiar.

He pinned me against the back wall and was about to say, or yell....most likely yell, something when I slipped out from under his arms and ran out of the closet. He grabbed my arm and pulled me back, holding onto me tightly, he pushed me against the wall.

I was about to scream when Maxella came running down the hall. She pushed Damiar away from me and started punching him.

"Max! Stop! He's gonna hurt you!" I started yelling for her to stop but she kept going. Damiar pushed her off of him and and punched her in the jaw before she could stand up again.

They started fighting back and forth. I stood in shock for a moment but then noticed a bunch of kids that happened to be passing through the hallway gathered into a crowd to watch the fight. 

I quickly tried to pull Damiar off of Maxella but he stood up, picking up Maxella by her collar as she thrashed and didn't stop fighting. I started yelling again trying to get them to stop.

I finally had enough of it. I huffed before getting in between both of them, pushing them away from each other. Maxella stopped fighting noticing that I was upset, and Damiar kept throwing punches.

I pushed Maxella far enough away from Damiar to where he couldn't hit her. He was trying to go towards her but I pushed him back and in the process he punched me in my nose.

Without thinking, I punched him right back in the eye. He stepped back in shock panting with a confused stare on his face. Like he couldn't believe I'd hit him.

"Just fucking stop it already" I said to him before wiping a little bit of blood from my nose.

Maxella took my hand in hers and we started walking off. Damiar grabbed my arm and I stopped as he got close to my face.

"You're dead the next time I see you," he said harshly and low into my ear. I jerked myself away from him and got closer to Max.

Fuck I should've never hit him. "M-Max, don't be surprised if I don't show up tomorrow...I, um, I'm feeling sick." "Okay, that's alright. Take care of yourself." She said with a weak smile.

I smiled back as I started to shake a little bit. God I hope I can stay home tomorrow, but my dad probably won't let that happen...
