Jeno's POV
It was a sleepless night for me, while Jaemin snored away. Something kept bugging me continuously, but I couldn't tell what is was. I kept tossing and turning around in my bed, shutting my eyes, trying get at least some amount of rest.
It was when a blood-curling scream pierced the eerie silence of the night, that I jolted upright in my bed. Jaemin was already at door, rushing to see what it was.
Coming to the living room, the sight surprising both of us. Doyoung hyung was sitting on the couch, his body trembling, his eyes bloodshot, and he was breathing heavily. Jaehyun hyung and Yoona were beside him, trying to calm him down.
Willow rushed in with a glass of water and immediately gave it to him. Jaemin and I also went near him and waited till he finally calmed down.
Taking slow sips of water, he whispered, "They know."
Only Jaehyun hyung seemed to realise what he was saying while the rest of us stood there confused.
"Can you elaborate on that?"
Taking a deep breath, he continued, "Theyknow that we are here. Theyknow that we have figured out, and that we're onto them. We have to get out of here. Like, right now." Turning to the girls he said, "I'm so sorry but there isn't much time right now to explain everything to you girls. You're going to have to trust us and come. It's for your own good. Yoona, how far away is your grandma's house?"
Wait , what?
"Uhh, it's about a 5 hour drive-"
"You're not going to teleport us?" Jaemin was just as confused as I was when he asked Doyoung hyung.
"No that's gonna be too risky. Teleportation already releases an energy surge even with just one person, even if it's on the same planet. And teleporting the six of us, especially into another dimension? Yeah, might as well just walk into his house and tell him to lock us up."
"So that means we'll have to take The Avenue." Jaehyun hyung was pacing around, when his eyes suddenly widened and he ran over to the window. He looked outside and his posture stiffened up.
"All lights out, curtains drawn and doors, cupboards and windows locked, now." His voice was so stern, that a chill ran down my spine.
The poor girls were already so confused, they scurried inside. Jaemin and I rushed to help them too.
When everything was secured, we came back to the living room. All of us had so many questions, but we were too scared to ask.
"Some of hismen are here. I could sense them. I had already masked all of us the day we came here, and put up shields around the apartment too, so they can't sense us."
Doyoung hyung looked deep in thought, "Amateurs, it seems. They're radiating a lot of energy, probably haven't learned to mask themselves yet." He closed his eyes tightly, as if trying to concentrate more. "I can't exactly pin-point what they're here for, but it definitely has nothing to do with us. If we're careful enough and fast, I think we can safely get out of here without suspicion. Yoona, how fast can you get us to your grandma's?"
"Um well, it's normally a 5 hour drive, but since it's like, the middle of the night, the usual amount of traffic won't be there. So with clear roads and a little speeding, I think I can manage in 3 hours."
"Fantastic. Girls, go pack all of your essentials. Jaemin and Jeno, you go too. We're leaving in the next 10 minutes, with the house locked and secured."
The girls were terribly confused, so Jaemin quickly whispered to them, "The Avenue, which is a gateway between this and the Neo Dimension, is hidden deep inside the forest behind your grandma's house."
"Oh, and in case if anyone stops us, leave all the talking to me. Do not speak in between, unless specifically asked. Just keep agreeing and follow along."
Always leave all the conversations and convincing to Jaehyun hyung. That's his speciality. No, like, literally. His power is mind control by charm, so he can get out of any and every situation.
Time passed by in a flash, and we all found ourselves cramped up in Yoona's car. Time to go back home.
Well this is gonna be fun.
