Hey look at that, it's my schedule flying out of the window!
Yeah sorry this is a day late I have absolutely no excuse whatsoever.

The boy woke up groggily, his head hurt a lot, his wing hurt more, and his shoulder was worst of all. The room he was in was all white, he thought he might be dead, and maybe this was heaven, maybe it was all over, the hiding, the running, the training, the constant pressure.

Suddenly he heard voices, one male, one female, he quickly closed his eyes, pretending to be asleep, he didn’t want to talk right now, but he was curious, so he may as well listen.

“-He still hasn’t woken up yet?” the female said, “It’s been a week…”
“It’s probably the mental trauma rather than the injuries, hopefully he’ll wake up soon.” The male said, the boy heard footsteps and now the two were stood right by his bed,

His breath hitched uncomfortably in fear, he didn’t like the idea of people, what if they put him in prison? Or killed him? He could tell his wings were showing, he could feel them drooping over the sides of the bed, he could also feel something wrapped around one, it was itchy and familiar, a bandage, there was one around his shoulder too,

The two people stood next to his bed were still talking, discussing him and the injuries he had apparently sustained, he didn't really remember, all he remembered was pain before he had blacked out.

He shuffled around, his wings uncomfortable underneath him, he attempted to hide them, but he couldn't find the strength,
"Joe! I saw him move!" The female said, the male, Joe, leant closer to him,
"Hello?" He said, "Are you awake? We aren't going to hurt you..."

The boy opened his mouth to reply, only breaking out in spluttering coughs, as his throat was as dry as sandpaper,
"Oh!" The female exclaimed, startled by his outburst, "water! I'll get water." She ran off, while Joe stayed beside him.

Joe helped him sit up slowly, his hand reassuringly placed between his shoulder blades and wings, before propping him up on a mountain of pillows, just in time for the woman to return with a glass of water, which he took gratefully with his left hand (he couldn't move his right because of the bandages) and drank as much as he could manage.

The water was refreshing, it also made him realise how hungry he was, he hadn’t eaten for a few days, of course he was hungry,
“Are you ok now?” Joe asked, “Everyone will be happy to see you awake you know.”
He nodded, as answer to the first statement, “...E-everyone? Where am i?” /he said quietly, his voice sounding somewhat gravelly.
“Oh yes, i forgot you don’t know where you are!” Joe said, perking up slightly, “Well, first of all, I'm Joe, this is Cleo, don’t worry about her… being a zombie, she re-animated herself.”
“That’s not important right now Joe,” Cleo said, coming over, “Do you have a name?”
The boy shook his head, refusing to introduce himself,he didn't know these people, so why should they know him? He looked over at her, he could see that she was a zombie, but he didn’t dare question it.
Cleo nodded with a smile, "it's fine, you can tell us your name when you feel comfortable with it."
“I know you probably have a lot of questions, we here have a few as well,” Joe said, “But before any of them get answered we need to call Xisuma and tell him you’re awake.”

----

“Can you walk?” Joe asked the boy, who nodded, “alright, come on then, a meeting’s been called.”

Joe helped him stand up and led him out of the room, backed up by Cleo, who followed them out, carefully closing the door behind them.

Joe lead them through a large courtyard, with an elegant cobblestone path through flower beds planted with many different colours of flowers, he couldn't help but stare as they walked through. After a few more long hallways and three sets of stairs they finally made it to the front of the huge building they had been in.

Outside of the building he could see a group of fifteen people at least, they looked friendly enough, but the lesson his parents had taught him most carefully stopped him from introducing himself easily: Trust no-one.

The armoured man came over, and smiled, Joe and Cleo walked off into the crowd, and the meeting began.

Yayyy! Maybe next chapter we'll actually know his name!

Hope you enjoyed :3
