Grian woke up to bright sunlight on his face. It was streaming in through an open window on the wall opposite him and casting a warm, light glow all around the room and warming his face.

Moving his hand to shield his eyes from the light, Grian felt a surge of pain, causing him to whimper and lie his arm flat again. He slowly remembered everything that had happened, the falling, the pain.

Attempting to move his ankles just caused him more pain, but they didn't feel broken anymore, maybe a healing potion, or he'd been passed out long enough for them to heal on their own, which was debatable as to whether it was even possible.

The last thing he remembered was being carried, out of the cave and through the forest a little way before he fully passed out, he made the assumption that the house, as it seemed to be, belonged to whoever rescued him.

Grian looked around the room, it was simple, the bed he was in had red bed sheets, the floor was spruce wood, there was a vaulted ceiling and a window which had a brewing stand on the windowsill, along with a potted poppie.

There were a couple of chests dotted about and an armour stand with nothing on it, it was a standard bedroom, not much detail, which led him to assume it wasn't a hermit.

He was trying to figure this out when he heard footsteps on a staircase, just outside the room. The door in the corner opened smoothly, Grian looked over at the figure who stepped through, carrying a plate of cookies.

Grian realised how much his injuries ached, he should have healed them while he had the chance when he woke up. Now he wouldn't be able to since he guessed the man standing in the door would want to talk to him, he turned his head to get a good view of the guy.

He looked a lot like Xisuma, but obviously wasn't, by a rough guess he was a few years younger at least, he wore red armour instead of green and he didn't seem to have a helmet. He had white hair, and dull red eyes.

"Who are you?" Grian asked him quietly, "Where am I?"

"Who are you and why are you here?" He retorted, leaning on the doorframe.
"I don't even know wh-where I am!" Grian said, "Or who you are! H-how am I supposed to trust you with my name?"
."I did save your life." He said, coming over and putting the plate of cookies on the table next to Grian, "And I made you cookies."

Grian reached out and took one of the cookies with his uninjured arm, taking a bite out of it then realising he shouldn't have taken food from a stranger, they could be poisoned, but they were so good.

"Th-thanks." Grian said, grian ate the cookie and closed his eyes, as if he was going back to sleep.

"You're welcome- hey! Don't you dare fall asleep again I've been waiting a day and a half to talk to you!" He said, walking over, an annoyed look on his face.

Grian remained how he was, his body tensing up and a faint purple aura surrounded him and his wounds began to heal, the guy stared, making a small "Oh" sound, before his wounds were healed completely and he opened his eyes.

"Sorry, I have to focus to do that..." Grian said, sitting up and swinging his legs out of the bed, his ankles healed. He stretched his wings out behind him, the guy could see that there was a jagged scar along one of them, where it had been cut, and another white scar on his arm, he noticed there were actually two there, one from the arrow and one further up.

"Why do you get those scars?" He asked bluntly, not being the best at being subtle.
Grian shrugged, "When I heal myself I get them, it's a side effect of my magic I guess, who are you?" He asked again, having not been answered the first time.
"Why should I tell you my name if you wont tell me yours?"
"I won't tell you my name until you tell me yours." Grian said stubbornly, folding his arms over his chest.
"Well I-"
Grian cut him off, "This is a pointless cycle that's going to last forever."
"So tell me your name." He said smugly, taking a cookie from the plate and nibbling it lazily, but with a sly smile, he was stubborn.
"I-" Grian let out a long sigh, not being bothered to argue, "Fine. My name is Grian, happy?"
"Very, my name is Ex, nice to meet you, well not really, but whatever." EX said, rambling slightly.
"How rude, well it's not nice to meet you either." Grian huffed, "But thanks for saving me or whatever." he offered Ex a small side smile, which Ex returned with a smirk.

"So, how exactly did you get here?" EX asked.
"Well I assume you carried me." Grian said with an "obviously" look,
"No, idiot, I mean how did you end up in that cave."
"Pfft, i know what you meant." Grian said, "Anyway, it's a long story..."
"I've got the rest of my life to listen."
"It's not that long."
"That's probably a good thing, now explain."
