don't kill me please.

Over the last few weeks the hermits had noticed Grian disappearing more and more. He would always make excuses as to why he was never around anymore. They were beginning to get suspicious of where he could be running off too.

Iskall was worried about him, which is why, after Grian made an excuse as to why he couldn't come to the first game of Cub's ravager run minigame, he followed the gremlin.

Grian looked behind him, just in case anyone was following, not spotting Iskall who had ducked behind a tree, before leaping off the cliff near his base and spreading his wings, flying across the ocean like he did so regularly now he didn't even need to look to know the way.

As soon as Grian was out of earshot Iskall took off from the cliff with a firework, following him, though remaining higher and further behind so he wasn't seen, once they reached the beach Iskall landed silently in the tree as Grian sat in the sand, waiting for something, or someone.

Watching from the branches of the tree, Iskall saw EX come out from the trees, he went to Grian, hugging him from behind, kneeling in the sand, Grian let out a squeak of surprise before laughing and turning to return the hug.

"Back so soon? You were only just here yesterday!" EX said, "I thought we were limiting these meetings."

"Yeah..." Grian said, "But I missed you!"

"But the hermits- what if-" EX said before Grian put a finger on his lips.

"There's no need to worry. I'll try and stop coming here so much, but I don't think there's any need." Grian smiled, untangling himself from the hug and standing up, offering a hand to help up EX.

Taking the hand offered to him and attempting to pull himself up ended with both Grian and EX falling in the sand, Grian sat up, laughing happily, EX joined him, trying to shake the sand out of his hair, laughing.

Iskall watched from the tree, growing more angry by the second, EX had obviously brainwashed Grian, Grian wouldn't come back to him on his own. Iskall knew, or thought he knew, that Grian was better than this.

He watched as Grian ruffled EX's hair, having to reach up, EX laughed and shoved him away playfully, causing Grian to fall back into the sand, not expecting the push. That was the last straw for Iskall, who couldn't see the playful intention.

Iskall yelled, jumping down from the tree and landing in the sand, running towards them.

"Iskall!" Grian yelled, jumping up from the ground. EX was rooted to the ground, staring at Iskall, his eyes wide.

Grian attempted to block EX from Iskall, but the taller Hermit just pushed him out of the way, sending him tumbling to the sand, deciding it would be the safest option for Grian not to be in the way.

EX yelped loudly as Iskall picked him up by the front of the hoodie he was wearing, lifting him right off of the ground, holding him at eye level.

Reaching his other had to his side to draw his sword, EX lashed out, squirming to get free, Iskall didn't let go, bringing his sword up and slicing it across EX's chest in one swift motion, EX yelled out in pain as Iskall dropped him to the ground, he fell in a crumpled heap.

"Iskall!" Grian yelled from the sand a little away from them, "Get away from him!"

"This is for the better Grian." Iskall said, his voice low and menacing, not taking his usual tone, but turning to one of concern, "I don't know what he did to you, but it should be ok now."

"He didn't do anything to me!" Grian cried, standing up and running over, falling to his knees next to EX, who was whimpering quietly, the cut across his chest was bleeding badly, staining the sand beneath them red.

"Stay away from me!" Grian yelled at Iskall as the swede went to put a hand on Grian's shoulder, meaning to bring him away, instead Iskall got a sharp slap across the face, sending him reeling backwards a little in surprise.

Grian glared at Iskall through the tears running down his face, he scooped up EX, trying his best not to drop him or to hurt him more, using his wings for balance, he took off from the sand, flying up into the air.

They were flying across the ocean towards the main island when EX passed out, His clothes and Grian's hands and sweater were stained with the blood from the rip in his chest. Grian was trying his best to contain his tears, and Iskall watched them go, slowly realising what he had done.

Grian landed shakily on Cleo's ship, calling out for Cleo. The zombie was the best healer they had here, surely she could do something.

"Whats-" Cleo began to ask before she saw EX, running over, "Oh- that's bad- right, come on."

Cleo took EX from Grian, bringing him into her ship and laying him down on a bed before beginning to see to the wound

When she was done, she turned to Grian, who had sat by the bed the whole time she was working, trying to wipe away the silent tears that just kept coming.

"The wound was deep, he lost a lot of blood." She said quietly, "I've done everything I can... I don't know if he'll make it."
