Chapter 10: Flirtation and Suspicion

Hanako's pov

I sat up yawning.

Knock, knock knock.

"Who is it?" I called out.

"Juugo," a voice answered. "Sasuke is calling for all of us."

"Okay. I'll be right there."

No answer.

I stood up and stretched.

Thank goodness, I was alone when I did that cause I made some dinosaur noises.

I walked out of the room and into the guys' room.

Everyone looked up as I walked in.

"Good. Now everyone's here," Sasuke said.

"We have a change of plans," he went on. "We'll be leaving tomorrow once everyone is up."

"Ehhhhh? Sasuke, I thought we were staying here for two days? Why are we changing plans all of a sudden?" Karin whined.

"Because I said so."

I raised an eyebrow.

"Is that all?" I asked.

"Hn," was his answer.

Karin and I stood up.

"I'm going for a walk," I said, yawning.

When I got outside, it was pretty chilly.

I shivered.

"Want some company?" a voice asked.

I looked up.

It was Juugo.

"Uh, sure, I guess."

We began walking through the village.

"Is there something you needed, Juugo?"

"I just need to ask you some things."

"Shoot."

"What is Sasuke to you, exactly?"

Whoa. I did not expect that.

What was he to me, exactly?

"He's... he's my friend."

"So why exactly are you helping him? A friend usually doesn't just drop everything and go rogue for another friend."

"I..."

"So he must be something more than a friend to you."

"That's none of your business," I said to him.

"So, why are you here?"

"I made a promise."

"A promise?"

"When he left the village, he asked me for my help some day. I told him I would. I promised that I'd be here."

He didn't say anything after that.

"Sasuke means a lot to me," I said to him. "If you think I'm going to try hurting him or putting him in danger, you're wrong. I owe him a lot."

"What has he done for you to make you so indebt to him?"

"That's not your business."

We walked in silence after that.

"We should go back now," I said. "It's getting late."

We turned and walked back to the inn.

"Yo! Where were you guys?" Suigetsu called to us when we were inside. "Juugo, were you putting the moves on Hanako? Sasuke will be pissed off if you tried getting with her, ya know."

I felt my face burn up.

"Why would I do that?" Juugo asked him.

"I don't know. She is pretty hot, don't ya think?"

I shook my head.

Idiot.

I started walking back to my room.

"Hey! Where are you going?!" Suigetsu called after me.

"Away from you!" I called back, jokingly.

He caught up to me as I reached my room.

"So honey, what were you and Sasuke doing in the forest, huh?"

I blushed again.

"Nothing. We were just talking," I replied.

"Reeeeaaaalllly? Just 'talking', huh?"

"Yeah. Just talking," I said, starting to get annoyed.

"Well you know, I've been in this village before. I know some great places we can go sometime," he said, winking.

"I thought Sasuke would be pissed if you tried 'getting with me'," I said, going into my room.

"Well, I'll take my chances."

"Well, you have no chance with me," I replied, before shutting the door in his face.
