Dreams can lead to Nightmares

Todoroki's POV

I was walking to school with Yaoyorozu that day. We were talking about some small stuff, nothing important. Somebody abruptly bumped into me. I turned around to see who it was. There was a girl with long purple hair standing there.

"I'm so sorry!" she said.

She looked up at me with large galaxy eyes.

My mind was blank for a second.

"Uh...i-it's ok," I told her.

She quickly ran back to the dorms.

"Everything ok?" Yaoyorozu asked.

"Yeah, it's just that when that girl...nevermind," I mumbled.

All at once, I got a splitting headache.

"Ow," I groaned holding my head.

"Todoroki, I'm taking you to the nurse's office," Yaoyorozu said grabbing my hand.

I let her lead me to Recovery Girl's office. I could focus on nothing else except the pain in my head.

Then it stopped.

"Yaoyorozu, I'm fine," I told her, "It stopped,"

"Are you sure?" she asked, concern all over her face.

"Yes," I answered her.

We walked back to class. During the day, the headache returned, but not as bad as the first time. I couldn't focus on my work either. I got yelled at by Mr Aizawa I don't even know how many times. By the end of the day, I was sure I had gotten a bad grade on at least 2 quizzes. Present Mic thought it would be a good day to give us a pop quiz too. When I got back to the dorms I went into my room and turned the lights off.

Time skip 4 hours

"Todoroki-kun?" Yaoyorozu asked from outside my room.

"What?" I asked from my bed.

"I brought you dinner if you're hungry," she said timidly.

"Thanks," I mumbled.

I got out of my bed and opened the door. Yaoyorozu was there holding a bowl of soba.

"Thank you for this," I said taking the bowl.

Yaoyorozu nodded and said, "No problem! Goodnight!"

"Night," I sighed closing the door.

I ate the soba Yaoyorozu had made me and then went back to my bed.

Dream

I was standing across from Shigaraki who was holding Yaoyorozu. He had four fingers on her throat and was moving the fifth one closer.

"Move another inch and I'll kill her," Shigaraki threatened.

"You won't get away with this villain!" I shouted.

"Oh, I already have," Shigaraki laughed.

"Todoroki..." Yaoyorozu said shakily, "Go help the others. I'll be fine,"

"I won't leave you!" I cried, my voice breaking.

"Aw, what a sweet moment between lovers" Shigaraki crooned, "I'd hate to cut it short, but why not?"

He put his other finger on Yaoyorozu's throat. I watched as she crumbled to dust.

"No!" I screamed.

Flames exploded around my body as I rushed up to Shigaraki.

"Now, you'll pay for what you've done!" I yelled shooting flames in his direction.

They were...blue?

I started to get hot. I coughed through invisible smoke.

Back to reality

I woke up to see blue flames all around me.

"Todoroki!" I heard Yaoyorozu scream, "Get out of here!"

I jumped up and out of my room.

"What the hell did you do?" Bakugou asked angrily.

"I didn't do that. My flames are orange, not blue," I told him.

"Really?" he asked, "Because you have blue flames coming off from you,"

I looked at my left side and found that Bakugou was right. Blue flames crackled as they burned my clothes.

"W-what?" I gasped, "T-that's not...I...what?"

I quickly stopped using my quirk.

I saw Yaoyorozu and some of my other classmates putting out the last of the fire.

"I'm sorry for the fire," I said bowing.

"It's 2:00 in the morning you know," Kaminari yawned.

"Again, I'm sorry for the inconvenience I caused," I told him.

I got another one of those headaches. Why was I getting them?

"Ow," I said holding my head in my hand.

"Is it another headache?" Yaoyorozu asked.

"Yeah, but it's fine. It's already going away," I assured her.

"You should tell Mr Aizawa at school, ribbit," Asui said.

"Why did you burst into flames?" Kirishima asked me.

"I had a bad dream," I said.

"That's why?" Bakugou asked, "Because you got scared of a nightmare?"

"Kind of," I admitted, "But I wasn't scared. Something happened and...I don't want to talk about it..."

"And we don't wanna hear about it!" Sero said.

"We need to get to sleep!" Iida announced, "It is way past the time we should be up!"

We said goodnight to each other and went back into our rooms. I closed my door and went over to my bed. It was the only thing that had gotten very scorched. I slept for the rest of the night without dreams.

I woke up the next morning with another headache. Where were they coming from? I got dressed and went to have breakfast.

"Good morning sleepy head!" Ashido said.

"What do you mean?" I asked her.

"It's 7:00!" Hagakure shouted.

"Seriously?" I asked stunned.

Why had I slept for so long?

"Hurry up and get ready!" Iida said.

"Ok, ok, I'm going," I said walking to my room to get my stuff.
