it was friday which meant three things.
1. jungkook worked from home today
2. yoongi would spend the entire day at his apartment and try to get him to go out drinking.
3. it was almost the weekend so jae was supposed soon go over to jisoo's and jimin's place but since they were leaving for some fancy trip on sunday, they took jae earlier to spend more time with him.
the younger typed furiously at his laptop as he shifted from window to window, trying to fill up this excel spreadsheet before it's due date at 4 pm. yoongi laid down on the other couch, scrolling through his phone and sipping at his 2nd iced americano. he was undeniably stressed from work, evident by his scrunched up shoulders and eyes red from rubbing them.
"no one told you to put this off till last minute idiot", the pale boy muttered, chewing at the plastic straw. jungkook rolled his eyes even though he knew that yoongi was correct, this was given to him a week ago and he was only finishing it now.
"all i have to do is finish inputting in this data and then i'm done. that's all, not too bad, easy ", he kept repeating this too himself in hopes of making the task less stressful but it rarely ever worked.
"i finally downloaded tinder and let me tell you, it's the worst", he started. yoongi was practically talking to himself since the younger never responded, but he knew he was half listening. the older went on and on about how his tinder dates barely even listened to him and would leave right after the sex.
"yeah, that's like the whole point dumbass. it's a hookup app", jungkook snorted before putting in the final row of data, saving the file and uploading it into pdf file to send to their supervisor.
thank the lord above, i'm finally done.
"haven't you seen those cute rom coms about people meeting their true love on those kind of apps? i was hoping that it would happen to me", the younger shut his laptop close and squinted at his friend in disbelief that this is the same guy who once looked at a family of ducks swimming on a lake and then ordered roast duck five minutes later for lunch because he got hungry looking at them.
"it's not gonna happen, they're called movies for a reason hyung", he teased. both boys jumped when jungkook's phone began vibrating. he glanced at his watch, jae wasn't even with him why was jisoo calling him now?
the older threw the phone at his face, laughing when jungkook glared at him and answered the call.
"you need to go down to the school and pick up jae, he's in trouble", jisoo deadpanned. jungkook could hear the soft piano in the background and the sound of laughter. she was at some fancy lunch with her country club friends.
"okay? am i meeting you there"? jungkook grabbed his coat and aimlessly walked around to search for some nice shoes. he was still in his 'work from home' clothes: black nike sweatpants, a white shirt stained with ketchup from the fries he was just wolfing down, big rimmed glasses perched on his nose and now, a black puffy jacket.
jisoo would have a fit if she saw him leave the house like this.
"no, i'm busy right now. you should go", the younger rolled his eyes after she hung up, a loud sigh leaving his mouth as he traversed around the apartment. yoongi didn't even need to hear the conversation to understand his annoyance. this was an ongoing problem that jungkook was too afraid to address.
jisoo never cared about jae as much as jungkook did. yes he knows how shitty that sounds considering she was his son's mom but it was evident to pretty much everyone that saw the difference in the way that the two acted around the child.
