the sunlight streamed into his room, flashing right into jungkook's eyes and waking him up immediately. he blinked his eyes repeatedly, rubbing them after and slowly getting up to ease his tired muscles. his entire body felt sore like he worked out last night.
"ah, coconut head has risen", yoongi joked, his gummy smile making an appearance. the older sat on the bed, filling the room with his signature scent of tobacco and pine. it was strangely comforting to jungkook.
"i hate that nickname, so much", his voice laden with sleep. yoongi smoothed his hair down from the crazy bed head he woke up with. even though jungkook wouldn't admit it, he loved it when the older did this, pet him like he was a little animal.
but don't tell anyone else that.
"it was either coconut head or crybaby, you choose". the younger sat up on his bed and looked around for his phone before realizing that he had no idea where jae is. he flicked yoongi on the forehead in retaliation before he began patting around the mattress.
"i still prefer jungkook but-anyways, where's jae"? being that it was the afternoon, it was expected from the little boy to be blasting cartoons early in the morning while sitting on the couch, eating cereal in his iron man printed pajamas and softly giggling.
"mochi the fiance took him to the park for a bit , by the way he wanted to get drinks with us once you were ready, but jisoo is in the kitchen", jungkook finally noticed how nicely dressed yoongi was. he had on a nice blue button up and his hair was curled a little, he was even wearing some makeup to even out his skin tone.
"did you tell her about yesterday"? after crying for about 30 minutes both boys ate in front of the tv, deciding on watching naruto because it always made jungkook feel better. jae strolled in a bit later, saying he was hungry as well so they all ate and watched tv till jungkook fell asleep. jae was on his lap asleep and yoongi was sleeping on his shoulder, the older loved them to their beds an hour later.
"yeah but not everything", jungkook nodded and got up to the bathroom to brush his teeth and everything. after last night, he felt a lot better about himself and his self confidence as a parent.
jungkook wasn't an emotional guy. he rarely cried or talked about his feelings, which used to bother jisoo a lot. every time he felt something, he always pushed it away until eventually he gets overwhelmed and explodes, like last night.
he's always been pretty insecure when it comes to other people accepting the fact that he's a single dad. his parents were okay with it and his best friend didn't mind, everyone else always seemed to hate jungkook for it. which made him feel like shit and feel bad for jae.
but a part of growing up is learning to be comfortable with who you are and even though jungkook is an adult, he's still learning and growing.
the younger waltzed into the kitchen, where his ex girlfriend stirred her coffee in silence. the balcony window was open and jungkook assumed that yoongi was smoking cigarettes again, a habit that both boys picked up in high school but the younger managed to drop quickly out of fear his mother would get mad at him.
"hi honey", jisoo smiled at him and flashed her pearly white teeth. she hasn't called him that since they dated, but jungkook wasn't complaining. especially when she wrapped her thin arms around his waist to hug him and kiss his cheek before resting her head on his shoulder.
if anyone else was watching, they'd look like a true couple.
"i know you don't want to talk about last night but i just want to say", she lifted her head to look at him, "don't ever beat yourself up over someone's opinion on you. it's not worth it, okay"? jungkook nodded, his heart swelling at the amount of love in her eyes. jisoo pushed his hair back and the younger swore his eyes were about to flutter shut again. she was being so sweet to him.
