The three of us stormed into the Great Hall, looking at the crowd over a few times.

"Looking for something?"

We turned around to see Ms. White standing with a small smirk on her face.

"Nothing just-"

"Your friends, I haven't seen them yet." Ms. White gave a knowing look and walked up to the front with the rest of the teachers.

Seconds later Dumbledore stood at the front of the room, asking us to please be seated.

The sorting hat sat on the stool, the first years came stomping in. Sage small braid could be seen jumping in the middle of the crowd, Oden placing a calming hand on her.

The hat sung the song, Fred and George handing dramatic sound effects as it went on. Soon names were being called from the list.

"Greyheart, Oden."

At the call of my brother's name, I perked up. He pushed back his shoulders and stormed up the front of the hat.

He proudly sat on the stool, his chin held high in the hair.

The hat was placed gently on his head, the word "Slytherin" screamed from the hat.

I stood up from my place at the table, clapping widely. Noah screamed something along the lines of "that's my brother" and the Slytherin table handed him his tie.

A few other students' names were called with Sage was then called up.

"Hufflepuff." Sage gave a large smile and waved over to Noah and I, who gave the same reaction as we did Oden.

Dinner was spent eating way too much food and watching the door, waiting for Harry and Ron to come in. Before I had  realized everyone was standing up from the long table, my eyes still slightly glued to the door.

"Come on (Y/N), maybe they're in their dorms," Hannah placed a light hand on my shoulder, quickly following the rest of the group.

I swung my leg over the bench, standing up quickly. I quickly fell onto the hard cobblestone floor. I looked around to see my robes stuck to the edge of the table.

The memory of first year flashed through my brain, Harry catching before I fell last year. A bittersweet smile crossed my face.

I quickly pushed myself from the cobblestone floor, running to catch up with the rest of my house.

Hannah and Hermione walked slowly behind the rest of the group, whispering in each other's ears.

I quickly caught up with them, only hearing the end of the conversation.

"-then my mom told me that I would figure it out," Hannah had a look of pure anger written across her face.

"Figure out what?"

"Good question," Hannah crossed her arms and looked ahead.

The door to the common room opened up, all the first years piling in.

I looked over a small girl's shoulder, Harry's messy hair caught my eye on the couch.

Without thinking I ran around the first years, ignoring the small yells from a boy I ran into.

I threw my upper body onto Harry, my arms wrapping around his neck. Harry slowly bought his arms around my back, Ron mumbling about not getting a hug.

"I saw you hanging from the car and I thought you were going to die," Harry slowly pushed me back to look me in the eyes.

"Unfortunately, you can't get rid of me that easily," he gave a little smile, his glasses falling down his face slightly with how large it was.

I took my pointer finger and pushed the metal frames back on his face.

"He does have a point, he did survive Vold-A-Wort," Hannah gave a small smirk and threw herself next to Ron.

"Hannah it's Voldemort." Hermione gave her a once over and tilted her head.

"I know that, but Vold-A-Wart is so much nicer." Ron looked at Hannah and gave her a high-five.

"Anyways, what happened to you guys after you lost the train?"

Harry and Ron went into a detailed story about running into the Whomping Willow and losing the car, which led into a long discussion with Snape.

His name reminded me of the journal at the bottom of my case, the memory of sitting on my bed for hours reading the perfectly carved words.

"-so you aren't expelled?" Hermione pointed between the two boys.

"Thanks to Professor McGonagall we aren't,' Ron gave a bewildered look, pushing himself to the edge of the couch.

"I really like Minnie," Hannah played with the ends of her hair.

"Minnie?"

Hannah looked up at me and made eye contact.

"I saw it carved into my desk last year in her class, I assumed it was a nickname of something so I decided to roll with it."

With a shrug of my shoulder, we moved on to different topics. The talk of classes and the new school year filled the common room, until midnight hit and we decided to head to sleep.

"Goodnight Ron, Goodnight Harry," I yelled from the end of the hall.

"Goodnight (Y/N)," Harry yelled back, the sound of Ron goodnight echoing through the hall until we made it into the room.

The sight of our old door took place, the words "Second Year" stretched out across it this time.

We walked into the familiar room, each of us running to our beds. Hannah's name is carved into the post of hers and the crack in the bathroom door from one of Lavender's panic attacks.

It felt so good to be home.
