STUDENT UNION
Zach was supposed to meet Ava in her dorm to work on their art history project, but he got stuck at work and couldn't make it.
So, Ava decided to go to Zach.
When she got there, there were students everywhere, and dozens of boxes of pizza on a table.
She couldn't find Zach, but she did find Andrew at a table, working on something.
She grabbed a pizza with anchovies and went to his table.
"Hey, Andrew. You know Zach, right?" Ava asked.
"Yeah," he replied.
"Have you seen him?"
"Uh, no."
"Oh. Well, I hope you like anchovies. It's all that's left," Ava said, sitting down.
"A burger guy set up shop at the coffee counter. Why do they want us to get fat during Dead Week?"
The two laughed.
"We missed you at the fashion show. Especially Dylan," Ava said.
"It's the first time I missed a performance," Andrew replied.
"Sounds like you wanted to go."
"I did, but what would that say?"
"You still care about him?"
"Maybe I'm not ready to say that."
"But it's true. Right?"
"It's not that simple. I'm the one that got hurt here."
"I know. And I'm not saying you have to forgive Dylan. That's your choice to make. But I know how you feel. I've had my heart broken by people I've loved. And now they're gone. I would do anything to have a second chance."
"Thanks for the pizza."
"It was free, so."
"Ah, okay."
"I'll see you later."
"See ya."
Ava got up as a guy that worked at the Student Union walked past her.
"Hey, have you seen Zach?" she asked.
"Fortson?" the guy replied.
"Yeah."
"He's not working until tonight."
So Zach was lying.
Ava called him, but it went to voicemail.
"Hey, Zach. You know, for someone who's constantly judging me, where does lying fit into your moral code?"
