*Haydens POV*

"Oh my god yes!" Billie shouts.

I choke and wetness spews out of my mouth.

Moments later I regain my composure. "Billie babe, it's a fucking burrito." With her mouth still full she tries to speak, "Yeth, bu..." she holds up her finger and she finishes chewing. "Yes, but this place makes the most bomb burritos in LA." I hold up my hands in defense before digging into my blueberry pancakes. Today is the day Billie shoots the video for bad guy. She wants me to help direct which I'm nervous about. Drawings, animations, and presentations are one thing, but actually creating something that isn't graphic related scares the shit outta me.

We get to set and Billie is having a field day with all the chaos. She wanted to bring her family with her so I'm chilling with them before shooting starts. A girl I don't recognize soon joins us, but the family seems to know her well. I take a moment to introduce myself to her. "Hey there, I'm Hayden," I extend my hand to shake. "Oh hey, I'm Zoe, Bil's best friend," she shakes my hand. "So you work with Billie at Interscope?" she asks trying to make small talk. "Yup, among other things," I check the time and see that it's time to begin. "Oop gotta go, we'll talk more later." I make my way to the directors chair and try my hand at this.

After a long day on set, Billie goes to one of the trailers to shower, and I make my way back to the visiting area and spot Zoe. She waves me over and I go sit next to her. She smiles and rests her head against her palm, "So what is it like?" I furrow my brows confused, "What do you mean?" "Dating Billie. You two are a thing right?"she asks. Something about this girl isn't hitting me right. "Uh yeah she and I are dating... and it's just like any other relationship." I reply vaguely trying to avoid the question. Billie sees me sitting with Zoe and motions for me. I excuse myself from Zoe's presence. I wrap my arms around Billie's waist, pulling her into a hug. She rests her head in the crook of my neck and she sighs. Something is up. "What's wrong baby?" She tenses up, "Nothings wrong I'm just tired. Can we stay at your house tonight?" I slide my hands into her pants pocket and grab her car keys. I'm surprised she hasn't yelled at me yet. I tap the back of her thighs and she jumps wrapping her arms around my neck and her legs around my waist. She pecks my lips before returning to resting her head against me and I carry a sleepy Billie all the way to the car and all the way to my room once we arrive at my house. I place Billie in my bed, pulling the covers up and tucking her in. She's so peaceful when she sleeps.

I make my way back downstairs and see that my mom isn't asleep yet. "You can't sleep either?" She asks. "It's been a crazy day mom, you wouldn't believe the chaos that ensued..." She chuckles, "It's good to see you happy again. Although there's something I wanted to talk to you about..." I give her a puzzling look. "Your father and I are getting a divorce." She states matter of factly. "Wait what? You're getting divorced over an argument? A month ago you two were fine and fucking each other's brains out-" My mom cuts me off, "Hayden Eleanor Grey you will not use that kind of language around me, do I make myself perfectly clear young lady?!" I stand there baffled at the pair of balls my mom just grew. "Well?" she asks. I just nod a yes in reply. "As far as you father is concerned, they wasn't me fucking his brains out, that was that old hag two doors down with a spice blend for a name." she says before sipping her cup of tea. My eyebrows shoot up at her choice of words to use that she just brazenly scolded me for. "Wait so your saying Ginger Freedman has been fucking dad? And if that wasn't you when I got home, then where the fuck were you. Spill the tea woman." I smack my hand against the table. She simply shrugs and sips her tea once more. I lean back in my chair and glare are her until she finally gives in. "Oh fine, I was with Avery that night." I think for a moment, "Aww mom, he's one of the sweetest guys I've met" I smile happy for my mom, but she's not smiling. "No dear, the other Avery." I think to myself, there's only two Avery's that my family knows... "Wait but the other Avery is... hold up, are you really telling me what I think you're telling me?" I question. She looks down at her cup, I can tell she's thinking. "I've been in love with Avery since I first met her. Long before I had even met your father. Things were different back then... that's not to say that I didn't love your father. I learned to love him over the years but I never could shake the way that I felt. In all honesty I'd do it all over again just to have you and your sister. You girls taught me that it's ok to express yourself, and that's something that I'm figuring out how to do every day." I lean over the table and hug my mom tightly, "I love you so much mom." "I love you even more ladybug." I giggle at the nickname she gave me when I was 3 and tried to eat a ladybug. Don't ruin the moment by judging me. She kisses my forehead before retiring to bed.

I'm still not tired so I make my way upstairs intending to go to my room and cuddle the shit out of Billie in an attempt to fall asleep, but I stop short.

In front of my sisters room.

I place my hand on the door.

Feeling my way down to the handle.

I turn it slowly.

Not prepared for this at all.
