THE NEXT DAY
I walked down the hallway to one of the guest rooms and quietly pushed the door open. Ever since August got home hours ago, he had been fast asleep. Maybe he was sleeping off all the alcohol he had consumed last night, or he was extremely comfortable, especially since he was back in the house.
I walked over to him and tapped him on the shoulder, trying my best to wake him up. "...August." I nudged him a few times, until his eyes opened. "Wassup ma?" He asked with sleep in his voice. "You've been sleep ever since you got back here, you need to eat something so you can take your pain medicine." He yawned and slowly lifted his body up, so he was sitting upright. "Ight, Im up."
"What do you want to eat?" I folded my arms across my chest and waited for him to answer. "Whatever you cook for me is fine." "I was gunna make breakfast for Aliyah, do you want some?" He nodded. "Yeah, ight sure." I nodded slowly and turned around, walking out of the room.
It was extremely awkward for him to be back in the house, and for me to be waiting on him like this, with our situation being on the rocks right now. I made my way downstairs and smiled once I seen Brutus in the kitchen, making himself a bowl of cereal. "Goodmorning Ms.Simone."
"Morning Brutus, I see your making yourself at home." He chuckled. "Trying too." I opened up the fridge and pulled out everything that I would need to make breakfast. "Im about to cook, do you want something?" He shook his head. "Im fine with my cereal, Im on a diet." I laughed. "Right."
"So how was your vacation? I didn't interrupt anything did I?" He shook his head no. "Of course not, you know Im always going to be there for you and Mr.Alsina." I chuckled at the fact he still was so formal with us.
"Well Im glad that your back actually, Im going to need alot of help with August while he's down." He nodded. "No problem." I pulled out a pan and sat it on the stove. "He needs some of his things from his condo, do you mind picking them up for me?" He shook his head.
"No, It's fine, I'll do it later." I smiled. "Thanks." I cracked three eggs into a bowl and started to beat them. "..Can I ask you something?" I looked up from the bowl and nodded my head. "Yeah, of course."
"Did something happen while I was away? When did Mr.Alsina move out and get his own condo? I sighed. "It's a long story."
"I got the time." He said with a smirk. "...We've just been going through alot lately...and we seperated from each other." His eyes widened. "Seperated? Legally?" I shook my head. "No...August wouldn't sign the papers...but we aren't together together at the moment." He sighed and shook his head. "Do I need to put my therapist hat on?"
I laughed. "No, but Im sure you still are." He nodded. "Your right about that." I turned to the stove and began cooking the eggs. "Why'd you two seperate?" I sighed.
"Well, it was Augusts' idea at first, he claimed he needed his time away from me since we could never stop arguing, and he was tired of my ways." He motioned for me to continue. "..And then he got caught up with some little girl he was on tour with, and that was kind of when eveything started to fall apart."
"When you say caught up...you mean??" I paused for a second. "He kissed her." He sighed and shook his head. "And after that, all of our problems just started to come out one by one, and now were in a really bad space."
"Have you guys attempted to fix it?" I nodded my head yes. "I set up a counseling session when things first started to get out of hand, but August stood me up to be with the the girl." "Oh.." He said lowly.
"Yeah, everytime I attempted to fix things with him, something always went wrong, and pushed me even further away from him." I sighed. "And now Im too the point where Im not even sure if I want to move forward with him anymore....I just have alot of things to think about." I grabbed three plates out of the cabinet and sat them on the table.
